when you work on a game that has steam API calls in it, steam for whatever reason counts the game being open in your IDE as play time, so it leads to situations like this

grayfruit@thegrayfruit
drop your most ridiculous steam play time stats, not the highest number of hours but the games seemingly least deserving of that amount of playtime. I'll start with my 386 hours in 4-hour long story based puzzle game Portal

@mille_ohara now do the funeral tarp for when they send him off the Hail Mary
English

@Vincentwithapen @strattslapdog let's just close our eyes and imagine what Eva Stratt is doing
English

@strattslapdog Andy Weir said he straight up fucked up because he wrote this in third person and not first and NO ONE corrected him.

@gahhnie @jaketropolis lowkey what's the benefit to using probe cores to do shit as opposed to kerbals?
English

@jaketropolis once you start getting antennas with good relay you gotta try sending out at least 3 equally spaced out in a geostationary orbit. learned about the commnet mechanics the hard way when i sent a probe to land on mun and went to the dark side
English

in my experience its because breaking habits is hard, people learn to draw one way and having to learn the specifics of facial anatomy for every specific species is difficult. and in addition if you're doing commissions people know how their sona will look in your style
Cent@grave109
nothing against furries but why do {MOST} fursonas just look like dogs when it's supposed to be a different animal like why do sharks and deers keep looking like dogs
English

@flurgley @shellsist they could so easily fuck this up by making it boring aesthetically, like taking itself too seriously as a space sim (but with cats who suspiciously have the same proportions as kerbals) and i hope they dont
English

@shellsist I like the game but I hate how the actual cats look, they’re not freakish little alien chudlets they’re just cuteslop
English

i like how its immediately obvious the cats were not designed by furries
i2cjak@i2cjak
Reminder: the spiritual successor to KSP is called “Kitten Space Agency” and runs flawlessly on Windows and Linux without wacky nasty physics bugs. They wrote the fucking physics engine from scratch. In alpha now but you can download test builds for free!
English

@shellsist the issue is that they kinda just decided "Ok its kittens this time" and seemingly nothing else right now when kerbals have so much personality and thought put behind them, KSP has humor and personality sprinkled into every nook and cranny

you continue living. my favorite part of the implications of immortality in 17776 is that without the finality of death people literally continued with their lives, and seem to truly live in the present, without the burden of the future. why the rush? it's not like you're dying.
probably a raccoon@wesaketchak
realistically what do we actually do when we all become immortal tomorrow

@JOCKPRIEST i'm so glad they went with this irregular-looking approach to designing the eridians instead of the more brittle-star looking designs people make for rocky. really sells the idea that they look like rocks
