Teenager Sexually Assaulted In Bracknell. Police have launched an urgent appeal for witnesses after a teenage girl was sexually assaulted in a shocking attack in the Bracknell town centre. The disturbing incident took place at around 6pm on Wednesday, May 6, when the schoolgirl was walking through the underpass next to the Pizza GoGo takeaway on the High Street. According to officers, the man called out to the girl before sexually assaulting her, groping her over her clothing in what detectives are treating as a serious sexual offence. The victim, who is under 18, is said to be left traumatised by the ordeal in what should have been a safe, busy area of the Berkshire town during early evening. Thames Valley Police describe the attacker as an Asian man in his 30s, approximately 5ft 8in tall, with light skin, dark hair and a short dark beard. Detective Constable Peter Murphy said: "We are treating this incident extremely seriously and are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this or who has any information to come forward as soon as possible." The nature of the attack, in daylight, in a public underpass near shops and restaurants at random has raised fresh concerns about safety in Bracknell town centre, particularly for young women and girls. Locals have expressed disbelief that such an incident could occur so openly just as people were heading home from work or popping out for an evening meal. Police are now urgently reviewing CCTV from the High Street and surrounding area in the hope of identifying the suspect. Anyone with information is urged to contact Thames Valley Police immediately on 101, quoting reference 43260224473. The force has stressed that even small details could prove vital in tracking down the man responsible. #UKNews #CrimeNews #Bracknell #Berkshire
