After this whole debate about DLSS 5 I came to the conclusion that most of the people talking about it are completely unaware of what they don't know...they're on the peak of ignorance and don't even grasp how little they understand. They just heard generative AI and like Pavlov's dog they just start drooling thinking it's the same shit as unethical slop image generators...for the love of Christ...go and educate yourself before raging on the internet for no reason. DLLS 5 is not a prompt based generator...it's not creating stuff based on someone else's images and hallucinates results. It uses the information from the raster to build up a final render frame with the same information but with better lighting and shading... I'll even give you an example on how much of an impact better shading and lighting has. This is a character I've worked on not long ago. On the left you have a raster render, with some bad shaders. On the right you have a render with raytrace on, a much better shader for both hair and skin. They don't even look like the same person...do they? This is what DLSS5 is doing....getting a result like the one on the right(tbh a lot better) at a smaller cost than actually rendering it. Still the same geo, same textures, same light sources. Some of you will go and say the one on the left is better and it's the artist's vision. It's not...it's just the artist's limitation due to shading and lighting constrains. Every single artist out there would love to get the right result in real time.

Out of all of the demos I saw, Starfield and Oblivion looked the best with DLSS 5. Most of the faces looked like the original except for the two NPCs from the beginning of Starfield and that one dude with the eyelids in Oblivion. I think I'd rather just Path tracing over DLSS 5

I hope the MacBook Neo finally humbles Microsoft. Windows has progressively gotten worse and worse over the years, just extreme levels of bloat and no significant improvement in terms of user experience. Somebody needs to give Microsoft a huge shock, force them to shut everything down and rebuild Windows from scratch.

@JMaine518 FG is not really relevant for 60fps tho? Targeting 120hz HDMI 2.1 displays which are a very small % doesn't seem so smart. FSR4 and Path Tracing at 60fps makes sense though. Unless they release Playstation monitor, which I think they hinted at?

@mrpyo1 That's not how things work. Ps6 will have been in development for years. Delaying it just makes the hardware less relevant when it does launch. It's not like they can delay a year and have a newer processor in it.

Why the PS6 should not release in 2027, or even close to it: - PS5 PRO exists for the people who wants better fps and graphics. New big huge update for PSSR! - Inflation is crazy and not a good place to launch a new console right now - We are finally start to see what the PS5 and PS5 PRO can do more and more. We literally had ps4 cross gen games for YEARS - The reality is no one wants a ps6 yet, there has never been such low demand for a upgrade. - WE NEED MORE GAMES!

A $1,200 Xbox is bad because... - that's obviously really expensive - it puts gaming further out of reach for many - it'll encourage Sony to go for a higher price for PS6 - it makes it harder to new people into gaming (or away from Roblox and Fortnite)

I can not tell you enough how much fun I am having with Under the Island! Officially 11.5 hours in and I just can't stop! Such an ode to classic Zelda with it's own charming identity that makes it truly stand out. The cartoony art style with vibrant pixel art takes it back to the 90's effortlessly. The combat feels fresh and punchy while the puzzles are very clever brainteasers that make you think but won't make you rage. What I truly appreciate is the lack of extreme hand holding and encouragement to explore and discover things on your own like the good ol' days when games didn't play themselves for you.
