Whyyyy when we ask our kids, “what do you want to be?”...we still expect answers like “doctor”, “teacher,” “paleontologist.” What could change if we instead expected responses more along the lines of: “Kind.” “Curious.” “Joyful.”

When a captain announces there’s a teacher on our flight, will the plane break out in applause? When we recognize a stranger as a teacher, will we stop to thank them for their service? Will presidents end speeches with “God bless our troops...*and our teachers*”??
