RECALL OF PARLIAMENT FROM RECESS - FUEL PRICES: Following our proposal to amend various laws with the aim of reducing fuel prices, we have written to the Speaker of the National Assembly with a request to recall the house from recess at the earliest, preferably Monday to process the various proposed amendments. We have proposed amendments as below; Amendment on the VAT act to reduce VAT on fuel Products from 8% to Zero thereby making Petro, Diesel and Kerosene VAT exempt. This will save Kenyans Ksh 15.87 and Ksh 17.99 on Super Petro and diesel respectively. Reduction of RMLF by Ksh 7 through the revocation of the Road Maintenance Levy Fund (Imposition of Levy) Order, 2024. The proposal on additional Ksh 5Bn subsidies for Diesel does not necessarily need Parliamentary approval.
