All my videos will be on YT and tiktok, but Instagram will be the 3rd place to find them because I’m a dirty little internet addict

I’ve tried all the new twitters and I think Threads has the most promise. Not perfect, but pretty fun so far. I’ll be posting over there for a while and posting new videos on Instagram instead of twitter, so follow me there as well. instagram.com/docglauc?igshi…

Understanding p-values is not difficult, but it does take more time (say 2 hours initially, rehearsing it 4 times for 30 minutes) than people invest, which is the only barrier to getting people to understand them. This material should be all you need. lakens.github.io/statistical_in…

Protip: if you are responding to a rejection, and particularly if you are asking an editor for a reconsideration of a rejected manuscript, wait until you can do it politely. This could be a subtweet #academia

@MariaSYoung0710 @NC_Renic @ReadTheSyllabus When I used to teach the student evals were so polarized: all 5s from students who actually cared about the material, all 1s from students outraged that I actually expected them to do the assignments. I once got "You must stop."

Universities: “Try to incorporate the student feedback” The student feedback: “the lecturer needs to talk in more and less detail about the topic . There were too many readings - more were needed. We liked the relaxed approach but would welcome a more formal approach.”

The Doctrine of Charity asks us to assume virtuous intent. To assume the best of others. When someone says something, what is the best they could have meant (instead of assuming the worst)? When someone is failing to deliver is there something else going on? 4/

I’m not against AI being integrated into these tools but people really have no idea what they want or why they want it. Everyone, from implementation down to end-use, feels like they are relying on someone else’s reasoning for why it’s a good idea.

Feels like tomorrow should be a bank holiday. Has bank holiday written all over it, doesn’t it? Yes? Then it’s settled!

We tend to think of a lung as a simple pump: one gas is pulled in, another is pushed out. That isn’t the case—with each of the roughly 20,000 breaths we take in a day, air travels through convoluted passages that can stretch for 1,500 miles. nyer.cm/v9O5dDR

I was a journal editor as a student, and have submitted multiple articles as a professor. I’ve never heard of an instance of a journal accepting a piece with someone’s name as a “placeholder” and then later substituting the “real authors.”
Adam Cohen | Lawyer. My Personal Views. #DemCast@axidentaliberal

In 2017 Matthew Kacsmaryk sent an article to a journal Saluting “religious physicians who cannot..make female what G-d created male..or dispense abortifacient drugs designed to kill unborn children” When was interviewed to be a judge The name of the author was suddenly changed
