I’ve tried all the new twitters and I think Threads has the most promise. Not perfect, but pretty fun so far. I’ll be posting over there for a while and posting new videos on Instagram instead of twitter, so follow me there as well. instagram.com/docglauc?igshi…

Understanding p-values is not difficult, but it does take more time (say 2 hours initially, rehearsing it 4 times for 30 minutes) than people invest, which is the only barrier to getting people to understand them. This material should be all you need. lakens.github.io/statistical_in…

We tend to think of a lung as a simple pump: one gas is pulled in, another is pushed out. That isn’t the case—with each of the roughly 20,000 breaths we take in a day, air travels through convoluted passages that can stretch for 1,500 miles. nyer.cm/v9O5dDR

I was a journal editor as a student, and have submitted multiple articles as a professor. I’ve never heard of an instance of a journal accepting a piece with someone’s name as a “placeholder” and then later substituting the “real authors.”
