If you crushed 500 tonnes canola to get around 200,000L oil then farms could become fuel self efficient, ingredients oil methanol and caustic soda and you have biodiesel. @logue_phil and some glycerine by product

@Rielly15869862 Can you screen out the seeds in the cleaning shed ? Crimson a bit smaller and sub looks healthy. Which subclover cv ? At that low level of crimson contamination in that photo it should pass seed cert standards for purity ?

Curious to know where our green on green spraying technology is at. Would love to one day send a spray drone or boom spray out to target Balansa or Crimson clover in a sub clover stand. Anyone know much about where this tech is at?

In the middle of what is likely to be a record-crop year there is also room for a spectacular as-good-as-it-can-be Balansa clover paddock near Moora, WA. Not a grass weed in sight, few capeweeds, plenty of bulk to capitalise on. We had to stop and admire 😁👌

Glyphosate solo left vs Paraquat solo right + hasten 1%

Ryegrass highly resistant to glyph and paraquat. Last week I have shown the difference adding 1% Hasten made. Now a series of photos to show the additive effect from a pre-emergence herbicide (but no Hasten) with Glyphosate 1800gai (left) or Paraquat 750 g ai (right).

@DPIRDbroadacre Good reminder to keep an eye out for oestrogenic clover too, most of these plants look suspicious.

@robbert115 Subclover has reasonable herbicide tolerance, increased herbicide tolerance in alternative species like serradella, medic, biserrula, chicory, plantain would be desirable to maintain a diverse species mix

@AmberB_C @S_M_Bowman @DPIRDbroadacre Not an expert on canola but K def often has burning at leaf edges in legumes & often pink dots or blotches as well. Esp at flowering. Sulphur often the leaves are light green & veins pale, your image shows dark veins ? Tissues test will be the key

@S_M_Bowman Going through pics of all constraints on the @DPIRDbroadacre MyCrop Canola app, looks most like sulphur deficiency but potassium (K) and Mn deficiency look similar too. Pics below of sulphur deficiency.

What’s this deficient in?

@S_M_Bowman my guess is manganese , leaf colour is but pale but dark veins. Tissue test would be informative plus nutrition history
