Bad loss after bad loss compounding.
4-13 this month.
6th blown lead in 17 games this month. An amazing April, followed by a disastrous May. The fight of the offense continues to be for naught, because the pen absolutely sucks. Not a single reliable arm there.
Back to .500 where they’re most comfortable. Another 77-82 win season incoming.

#Reds are 24-23 total:
Offensive Ranks overall:
2nd in barrel%
5th in HRs
5th in xwOBA
10th in SBs
15th in runs
15th in OPS
21st in wRC+
Since April 13th (31 games, 15-16 record)
2nd in barrel%
3rd in HRs
3rd in xwOBA
6th in OPS
9th in runs
11th in SBs
11th in wRC+
So the Reds offense has undoubtably been *good* for the large chunk of the year, the issue? The Reds have a 5.25 TEAM ERA since 4/13. The 2nd highest in MLB.

It’s wild how the Reds’ best position group coming into the season completely deteriorated before Memorial Day
Reds in Four@RedsInFour
The Reds won a game 15-1 three days ago and they still have the 3rd-worst run differential in the National League by a pretty wide margin.

@JDowellKY @bryce_spalding I mean Friedl has a 50 wrc+ compared to Benson’s 94…Benson still not great but an enormous upgrade over Friedl
English

@bryce_spalding Benson as the replacement isn’t any better in my opinion
English

That’s a big, strong statement toward TJ Friedl.

This might be the second worst trade made in baseball last year, and it’s only second because Nick Krall also traded real assets for Ke’Bryan Hayes’ contract at the deadline too.

The Gavin Lux trade last year is a perfect example of what makes the Dodgers so great. LA got Mike Sirota and a draft pick (which became Charles Davalan). Their stats at High-A: Sirota: .325/.464/.649, 5 HR, 13 RBI Davalan: .302/.394/.581, 6 HR, 17 RBI

@kfrazier47 @dotsonc Great for 3 years? No that’s not true
He had one good season which every statistical looking at it shows it was luck
He’s terrible
English

@whodeybaby9851 @dotsonc Yeah he’s been horrible nobody disagrees but he was great for 3 years you don’t just completely lose that and you said all his succes relies on luck which couldn’t be further from the truth
