Oh I remember these dolls, these dolls are mechanical puppet technology created by the Dollmaker from the Séance Society, funded by Fractsidus in the Yinlin’s story quest.
The Dollmaker's research data was handed over to Fractsidus, and in return, Fractsidus financed the mass production of those advanced dolls. However these Nivora dolls seem to have already been infused with Voidmatter.
But there's an interesting part here about the horror mechanics. It feels like Kuro is experimenting for the future Ashinohara arc, whose theme would fit perfectly with the concept of a Zashiki Warashi.
