@DougWahl1 In all honesty, Belgium isn't going to be the true test anyway if the US is able to pull it off.
English

@JordanSchachtel It kind of did with Wemby... just the reverse where a deserving player was not penalized... which IMHO is egregiously worse as intent was there unlike in Balogun's case.
English

Imagine if this happened in one of America's major sports. The complaining team would be relentlessly ridiculed for its fear to square off against their opponent's best players. The coach wouldn't dare this appeal.
This European mentality is so foreign to the American spirit.
Yahoo Sports@YahooSports
Belgium has been granted the right to appeal against FIFA’s decision to suspend the one-game ban handed to USMNT star Folarin Balogun, less than 24 hours before the team’s round of 16 match vs. the United States, per The Athletic. The Belgian federation said it was “astonished” by FIFA’s decision to suspend the ban for a period of one year and the Royal Belgian Football Association (RBFA) responded that the move was in “direct contradiction” of the competition regulations and said it is exploring “all potential options.”
English

@Mike_Erickson93 @Footballtweet To be clear, I think the rule is written poorly and allows for a decision to be made without taking intent into account which is complete BS... but it currently is what it is and needs to be changed.
English

@Mike_Erickson93 @Footballtweet Slow Motion is used strictly for establishing factual details (in this example, did the studs hit the ankle) Real Time is used to judge subjective decisions, such as the intent of the player or the intensity of a tackle. I think the red was assigned based on studs contact.
English

🇳🇴 Norway manager Stale Solbakken with a strong response to Folarin Balogun's red card being suspended:
🗣️ Solbakken: "It is a big mistake by FIFA. It is not a great conclusion. He got a red card and the VAR concluded that it was a red card. That means you are suspended for one game.
I think what is really bad about that situation is, if the USA beat Belgium, they will always have that extra thing about it.
The Belgians will be furious. What about the next red card? What happens there? Will some committee take it away? It’s a bad, bad, bad, bad decision that will hurt the World Cup and the United States."

Yes, the photo appears authentic—no clear AI artifacts. Camera angles, posture, suit drape and lighting frequently make the midsection look more prominent than scale numbers suggest. Recent medical reports list Trump at 6'3" and 224-238 lbs. Visuals and official stats often diverge in public photos.

@AmericaPrimoUSA @stoolpresidente He's worried about the horse... and its not the 6 degrees per se, it's the total temperature when combined with the humidity which could be dangerous to the animal.
English

@stoolpresidente It's a 6 degree difference. Stop being a pussy.

Can somebody tell me the real forecast in Saratoga today? I see everywhere from 98 to 92. Sorta a huge difference. I cancelled my trip cause I thought Saratoga was gonna cancel. Now I gotta take boats, trains and planes to get there for Lovely Grey in the 8th and if it’s actually 98 I ain’t letting her run.
English

@garykoepnick @acnewsitics This whole situation is just a bad joke...
English

@garykoepnick @acnewsitics In all fairness, he didn't indicate who's oil went through... probably Iranian oil now that sanctions are being lifted...
English

Why do you think it is called Covid 19? Because it was the 19th iteration of covid. That signaled from the start that it was created in a lab. But where were all the other versions crafted? Right here at home? At least some of them.

@Shaun_Fosmark @ProjectLincoln Doing quick research can be your friend... not sure I get the humor...
English

@Shaun_Fosmark @ProjectLincoln That's great, but peroxide is actually widely used as a paint remover. A great example is Cee-Bee® E-3000 which is used to remove epoxy amongst other things.
English

@ProjectLincoln I've done a pretty extensive amount of painting in my life. Not once have I ever used hydrogen peroxide.
Alcohol... not so much
Acetone lots
Methyl Ethyl Ketone, industrially
Hydrogen peroxide, never.
English

@JaredRyanSears There is no rational way to these results any other way. Though some will try.... unfortunately

There is no way to read the MOU with Iran as anything other than giving Iran everything it wants to reopen the Strait.
That's how much of a failure this war was.
We are lifting sanctions and getting Iran $300 billion to reopen a Strait that was open before Trump attacked.
America has never looked weaker.

@Will2Rich @eseaFranny @stoolpresidente Engagement. Staying the dumbest things possible carry more value on Twitter.
English

@eseaFranny @stoolpresidente While World is huge, there is no way you thought this was truthful. Yesterday, if you were outside in any borough, everyone and I mean everyone had on Knicks hats or shirt. Watch parties were packed from afternoon. Why do people come lie on here for no reason lol

BREAKING: Rep. Ted Lieu DESTROYS Trump's Agriculture Secretary over her insane lie that Joe Biden is to blame for the screwworm outbreak — which is a direct result of DOGE cuts!
Democrats are done playing nice with these liars...
"Dear@SecRollins: You keep getting fact checked for your lies," the congressman wrote on X. "It’s your Administration that cut the Screwworm programs. Also, the life cycle of a Screwworm is 14 to 54 days. The trump Administration has been in office over 500 days. If you can’t stop lying, you need to resign."
Lieu was reacting to a video of Rollins insisting that this new screwworm problem traces "back to the last administration" and Biden's nonexistent "open border policy."
This is yet another blatant example of the Trump administration coming into power, breaking something that they don't understand, and then blaming Biden for the consequences. They are pathologically incapable of taking responsibility for any of their blunders.
"Dear @SecRollins: Did the Screwworm come from the trump Administration’s beef import plan with Argentina?" Lieu wrote in a followup post, boosting a report that Trump signed a trade deal with Argentina that permitted "unrestricted beef imports" from that country despite its screwworm problem.
Screwworms, which devour tissue and can kill cattle, have been detected in a growing number of calves in Texas. One case has been discovered in a dog. The pest had been considered eradicated in the United States for decades, but under Elon Musk's tenure at DOGE, the government slashed preventive measures and funding aimed at hampering the spread of the creature.
Before those cuts, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), spent tax dollars on monitoring and containing the spread of screwworm in Central America. It was one of the most worthwhile government investments on the books, because it helped stop destructive outbreaks like the one we're currently witnessing.
"Trump GUTTED funding for screwworm detection and fired 25 percent of workers whose job it was to monitor the disease," Congressman Shri Thanedar wrote on X.
We know who's to blame here and it's not Joe Biden. It's Donald Trump and Elon Musk, ignorant oligarchs who were so hellbent on slashing spending to pay for more tax cuts for the obscenely rich, that they didn't care what they destroyed in the process.
Please ❤️ and share to demand a full investigation into DOGE!

This administration cut animal monitoring programs and staff at the USDA, and now American cattle are being infected with screwworms.
They cut programs for early detection and response for outbreaks overseas that were designed to prevent them from reaching the US. Now, there is a serious, fast-spreading Ebola outbreak in Africa.
Republicans stoked vaccine skepticism for years and chose a conspiracy theorist to be Secretary of HHS. Now, measles, a disease previously declared eliminated in the US, is spreading. Last year there were 2,288 cases, the most since 1991, and there have already been 2,030 cases this year.
Ocean and weather monitoring has been cut. NOAA and FEMA have had cuts. Hurricane season is beginning.
We're entering wildfire season amid record dry conditions and 35% fewer acres treated for fire prevention.
This administration is putting America at greater risk with cuts to critical programs, and for what? Bigger tax breaks for corporations and the wealthy while the deficit and debt rise faster than before?
