I couldn't resist! I 3D printed a BMO switch holder for myself, and naturally, I did a photoshoot for it in my front yard. My neighbors probably think I've lost it.

@remoquete Omg! I was thinking the exact same thing today. I am considering doing more courses and possibly a degree in psychology (to have more options besides tech writing). Would you be open to grabbing a virtual coffee?

@_Unsolved_ I studied tech writing and would say: You can do it like you described but it will take you so much longer to learn the craft. Possibly, you aren’t even as effective. So, no, I say study your topic but enrich your perspective by looking at things outside of your field.

What if we project this thought onto technical writing: If you want to be a better tech writer, don't study technical documentation. Study fiction. Study poetry, art, animation, UX, psychology, journalism, data visualization. Study the world. And where do you get inspo from?
