This is what GenAI is going to bring you.
-First they phase out consumer access to local compute by pricing you out and forced scarcity.
-Then you have to pay for all processing power to them for working, game/video cloud streaming, they want it to be your only option.
-Then they will charge you, by month, by hour, then by minute.
-Then they will monitor it all and censor it as they please, like Sony wants to do with PlayStation.
-Their Terms of Service will dictate it all and without the power of choice, they won't care how you feel about it.
Full control
Everything As A Service
Surveillance and charging you by the minute for it.
It all will stem from GenAI and data centers, the Trojan horse.
Don't normalize it, don't let it in the gates.
Resist.

@PunjabiPiccolo There was actually a pretty good VR emulator that allowed you to customize a room where this was basically a reality. Unfortunately, development halted like 2 years ago

The future is VR creating a nostalgic place like your childhood home and then you sitting down and playing a video game or watching an old movie/TV show there. Imagine retired life. The VR program takes your childhood pictures and recreates your home using AI. You go into that home with the VR headset on and play some PS2 games. This is the future of nostalgic gaming.

@JewelReeBox Frankly, VRC doesn't reward world creators for making immersive/interesting worlds anymore. It was easy pre-covid because users expected innovation, but now that the platform is paving for monetization in the shadow of Roblox, it's easier to just dump assets to catch popularity
