@quacksonmusic ive watched people make kicks similarly, using synthesis because to them its "easier" than scrolling thru an entire library of kicks tryin to find the right one, like what seems like a headache to some people is actually fun / easy / not a problem for others

@killthenoise it feels like a lot, I think with the right sample choice like 3-5 is enough without becoming a mixing headache

is 7 layers to make a snare really that crazy? a fundamental, a top part, a pre transient, layering foley and playing around with different tails etc, sometimes i open up a project and just make things like snares.. i wonder why some ppl got triggered. too much work?

@everyart_ what if u want the snare to sound like it is made of sticks, industrial equipment and household items

@killthenoise Stop the gamifaction of music production. top snare. bottom snare. If thats not enough get a new snare.

the industry doesn't notice any of this it just sees a trend and sees value but it doesn't know where it comes from only that it exists to be extracted

art is a mirror -subtronics = a scene stands on the big stage together -justin bieber = come hang with me and listen to our music together - nine inch noize - humanity and 'technology' collide in a play about the struggle of the human condition

industry doesn't create trends, it identifies data and extracts value. a pattern recognition tool like AI speeds this up. bein an artist is about what exists before it becomes legible to this extraction system.that is real value.its not about winning either. take coachella for instance the biggest stories from this past weekend were about acts that subverted the expectations.they are "the peoples champs" and that's how its always gonna go no matter what technology is available

@camouflybeats industry always has functioned this way, its reactive. he won't know what's going on until someone is already doing it and then will jump on whatever that is. "you can't win" not about winning but that's how the industry sees it cause if they aren't winning they're irrelevant
