All 3 of the main roads that connect Mount Charleston with the rest of Southern Nevada have been destroyed by the flooding that occurred over the weekend. It's unclear when they can reopen.

NDOT maintenance crews have opened a single temporary emergency lane. This part of SR-157 had been destroyed. This is only open to residents of the Mt Charleston community & first responders. This road is NOT open to the public as SR-157 is extremely hazardous in multiple areas.

SR-157/Kyle Canyon Rd:

Mt Charleston roads update thread (SR-157, 158, 156). Today NDOT maintenance crews and experts toured areas damaged by floods and met with contractors to assess emergency repairs. NOTE: All roads sustained heavy damage and will remain closed to the general public at this time.

SR-157/Kyle Canyon Rd sustained heavy damage in multiple areas, including several spots of shoulder erosion and washed-out roadway between Rainbow Canyon and Mt Charleston cabins. Crews are bringing in concrete barrier rail to create a protective barrier wherever necessary.
