DEAR MEN,
If your wife goes to the salon on Saturdays but you don't know which salon, I need to tell you something important.
Sit down first.
Have you noticed she wakes up on Saturday with unusual energy?
This is not the same woman who cannot find strength to make tea on a Tuesday morning.
On Saturday she is up, showered, dressed and out of the house before you have finished processing that it is morning.
And the dress she wears to the salon.
I need you to think carefully about this dress.
This is not a going-to-the-salon dress.
This is a dress that has made a decision.
Now let me tell you what is happening inside that salon.
The pedicure stations of Nairobi have been quietly taken over by Rwandese men.
Not ordinary men.
Men who studied the craft with the patience and precision of people who understood exactly what they were signing up for.
They now run over 90% of the top salons in Nairobi.
Your wife does not want just any pedicurist.
Your wife has a specific one.
She will wait for him.
Not one hour.
Not two.
Some women are waiting six hours for their specific Rwandese pedicurist.
SIX HOURS.
She cannot wait six seconds for you to finish a sentence.
She has waited six hours in a salon chair for this man.
Now let me tell you what happens when her turn finally comes.
She sits down.
She extends her leg.
She opens, not too wide, but wide enough to show her white race G-string.
He takes her foot in both hands like it is something precious that requires full attention and complete dedication.
Then he begins.
The massage starts at the foot.
It does not stay at the foot.
It travels upwards.
Slowly.
Only God knows where his hands ends up.
With the focused energy of a man who has been waiting for her turn as long as she has been waiting for his.
The conversation is soft.
The salon music is low.
He looks up at her and she looks down at him and there is an entire dialogue happening that has nothing to do with nail polish or wantam.
By the time he is done, yes her nails are shining.
But also Her eyes are also shining and somewhere else that needlessly got shined.
These are two different kinds of shining and only one of them is because of the nail polish.
She floats out of that salon.
She comes home glowing.
You think it is the pedicure.
It is not only the pedicure.
The short dress goes back into the wardrobe until next Saturday.
The specific pedicurist is already booked.
She has his personal number saved under a name in her phone that is not his real name.
As an elder I must warn you.
The institution of marriage is being dismantled one toenail at a time in the salons of Nairobi.
We either learn to hold her foot with that same focused dedicated energy.
Or we accept that a Rwandese man in a salon on Ngong Road is doing something for your wife that you have never thought to do in your entire marriage.
It starts at the feet gentlemen.
It has always started at the feet.
Don't say the servant of the Lord didn't warn you. 😂

Karen Nyamu MUST step down or be removed from the Senate!!
What happened to that student in Senate was deeply inappropriate and honestly very uncomfortable to watch. A child walked into a national institution under a school program and somehow ended up being spoken about in a suggestive manner by an adult holding public office.
And no, we will not reduce this to “Karen just being Karen..” There are certain lines that should never be crossed, especially when children are involved!!
A young girl should be able to walk into Senate and leave feeling inspired, respected and safe, not embarrassed, sexualized or turned into the center of inappropriate remarks in front of an entire room and the country.
Public office comes with responsibility, maturity and self-control. If someone cannot understand the weight of their words around minors, then they honestly should not continue occupying such a position.
And honestly, this entire situation raises very serious questions about how Karen Nyamu even ended up in the Senate in the first place.
Who nominates these people?
What exactly is the criteria?
What values are being rewarded?
What kind of conduct qualifies someone to represent Kenyans at that level?
Because if this is the standard being normalized in our public institutions, then we genuinely have a deeper crisis as a country.
An apology alone is not enough. There must be accountability.

During a tense bullfight, matador Alvaro Munero suddenly stopped and walked away from the bull. As the crowd watched in silence, he looked into the animal’s eyes and felt sadness and compassion instead of fear.
He later said the bull did not look angry, only innocent and wanting to live. That moment changed his life forever. He dropped his sword, left the arena, and from that day on, he never took part in bullfighting again. His story later spread worldwide as a powerful message of compassion and respect for animals.

I missed my flight in Nairobi once because of traffic on Mombasa Road.
Like fully missed it. I got to the airport sweaty, exhausted, dragging my suitcase like it personally betrayed me.
I already knew there was no chance, but I still ran to the counter hoping for mercy.
The woman checked her screen, looked at me, then said, “You were the last passenger.”
I laughed a little because what else do you do at that point?
Then she lowered her voice and said, “The plane is still on the ground.”
Next thing I know this airport employee is SPEED WALKING me through the terminal like we’re in an action movie.
Security waved me through, another worker grabbed my carry-on to help me run, and I’m apologizing to literally everyone while fighting for my life.
I got to the gate completely out of breath.
The guy scanning boarding passes looked at me and said, “Eh, Nairobi traffic. We understand.”
People on the plane actually clapped when I walked in looking half dead.
I have never respected airport workers more in my life. Big up to them.

A jobless father of five is carrying his baby on his back while heading to the farm. He has turned to social media to plead for help, asking people to come through for him as one of their own. He says his wife is currently stranded in hospital, and he has no income to support their five children or pay for her treatment. Life has become extremely difficult since his wife was admitted, as he now does almost everything with the baby strapped to his back. He is a loving, caring, and responsible father — he just lacks a job.
