Currently, vaccines aren’t our best defense, if used in isolation, against Long Covid (and most people aren’t aware of the protein-based option, Novavax, that appears to be more durable).
At best there’s a 40% reduction in risk and that was based on BA.5 data. So it’s irrelevant now. We’re already moving beyond JN.1 which caused millions to join the Long Covid Club.
I’m not down with everyone joining LCC, but you know me. “There is no Long Covid without Covid.”
Masking with high quality NIOSH approved N95/N99 respirators is the BEST defense against Covid and Long Covid. Period. Air purification and ventilation is a great layer for added protection.
Until the indoors is like the great outdoors, you need to wear a mask to avoid inhaling the airborne BSL-3 pathogen.
It’s an airborne virus. It messes with every part of your body and changes your capacity to think, move and fight off disease.
