BRIDGING THE GAP: MEN ACROSS GENERATIONS UNITE TO RECLAIM THEIR ROLE IN SOCIETY

It was my honour today, as Chief Guest, to attend the Mass and Prize-Giving Day at Karuthi Comprehensive School in Chinga ward, Othaya Sub- County. Seeing such bright, disciplined students gives me great confidence in the future of Nyeri County.

It was an honour and great pleasure to witness the union of Susan Wanjiku and Cyrus Njige as they exchanged their vows and committed their lives to one another at Our Lady of Consolata Kagwathi Catholic Church in Tetu. I was accompanied by H.E the Deputy Governor @kinaniriwaroe.

I was delighted to host a delegation from the Kenya Actors Guild Board of Management, who paid a courtesy call to seek ways of mutual collaboration in championing talent devt, advancing the creative economy, youth employment, cultural development and tourism growth within Nyeri.

On behalf of H.E. the Governor Mwalimu @GovernorKahiga, I had the pleasure of participating in the issuance of chicks under the FLLoCA Programme to self-help groups drawn from Kiganjo-Mathari and Gatitu-Muruguru Wards in Nyeri Central Sub-County.

Later, I accompanied Deputy President H.E. Prof. Kithure Kindiki and various dignitaries including Deputy Governor H.E David Kinaniri, to the Nyeri County Referral Hospital (PGH) to visit the five survivors involved in the grisly road accident.

With profound sorrow, this morning, I, together with DP H.E. Prof. @_KithureKindiki, DG H.E @kinaniriwaroe, the Ecumenical Council of Bishops led by Bishop Dr. Paul Wanjohi, leaders from both the county and national governments, joined the family, friends, and loved ones.

Hosted H.E. President William Ruto and other national leaders during the 2026 Holy Oil Consecration Service held at AIPCA Kagere Church in Othaya, Nyeri County. The Consecration Service is a deeply spiritual and significant event within the AIPCA. @WilliamsRuto

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐢𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐎𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 With deep gratitude to all who made this publication possible, I, together with the DG @kinaniriwaroe, was humbled and proud to officially launch the book "Nyeri Golden Icons: Celebration of Excellence and Impact."

Together with Deputy Governor H.E @kinaniriwaroe, I had the pleasure of hosting a delegation from Sidian Bank led by the Head of Government and Institutional Banking, Simon Mwangi. Our discussions centered on exploring potential areas of collaboration. @County19Nyeri

FLLoCA WORLD BANK MISSION VISIT: Later, together with Nyeri DG @kinaniriwaroe, we hosted a team from the World Bank under the Financing Locally-Led Climate Action Program, Kenya , (FLLoCA) who are visiting Nyeri County to inspect projects under the program. @FLLOCAKenya

Together with Nyeri Deputy Governor H.E Kinaniri Waroe, we met the officials of Burudisha Sacco who paid a courtesy call to my office. This is a Sacco comprised of over 500 liquor sellers (bar owners) from all eight sub-counties as members.

I hosted Hon. Kiruga Thuku of Chinga Ward and Ndungu Nyoro (CEO, Affecto Foundation), to finalize arrangements for Blessed Claire Muthoni, after a brave battle with Cancer in India. She will be laid to rest tomorrow, April 1st, in Kihuri, Othaya Sub- County.

A requiem mass of the 16 people who perished in a road accident is expected to be held on Tuesday next week. A joint committee comprising both County and National Gvt officers, alongside representatives of the bereaved families is planning for the mass at Kabiruini grounds.

Following the recent tragic accident that occurred on 28th March 2026 along the Nyeri-Nyahururu road involving a lorry and a PSV vehicle that claimed the lives of 16 people, my administration has moved swiftly to put in place measures aimed at supporting the affected families.

Against the worrisome backdrop of increased cases of Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs), suicide cases and GBV cases across Nyeri County, the 2026 edition of the County Wellness Week could not have arrived at a most opportune time.
