You laugh but I was on a red eye from CA to NC, sharing an aisle with two twenty-something’s. The conversation went:
“…and when you drive around, there are so many trees.”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah, everywhere. The sides of the road are all trees.”
“But how do you know where you’re going?”

Let’s rip the mask off China for a second.
They just got their cheap Iranian oil lifeline fucking severed...poof, end of the discount era, billions in savings torched because the U.S. smashed that pipeline of discounted crude. Lost their sweetheart Venezuela deal a couple months back too, after we toppled Maduro and flipped the script on those cut-rate barrels.
And that precious grip on the Panama Canal ports? Gone...Panama just seized those key chokepoints from the Hong Kong puppets, handing Washington a massive W in the backyard.
This ain’t minor league bullshit. This is a full-frontal, systematic gutting of China’s global influence playbook, one energy artery and strategic chokehold at a time.
Yet the media cowards? Crickets. Won’t breathe a word because admitting reality means confessing the U.S. is actually clawing back ground, flipping the board, and making the dragon bleed. Can’t allow that narrative to leak...too busy peddling “America’s decline” porn to notice the empire’s getting curb-stomped in real time. Pathetic.

Prior to flipping the Republican seat for Washington’s Third District in 2022, Congresswoman Marie Gluesenkamp Perez helped run an auto-repair and machine shop in Portland, Oregon. The trivial matters of the auto industry are closer to her than to your average politician, so it wasn’t surprising when she recently brought a sliver of that industry to Capitol Hill. “I don’t know how many of you drive and how often,” she said in the House Appropriations Committee last July, “but I will tell you there is a plague in this country of headlight brightness.” Her proposed amendment, which urges the Department of Transportation to investigate the headlight issue, passed through committee unanimously across party lines. And in September, Republican assemblyman Brian Miller introduced an act in the New York State Assembly calling for its own headlight investigation. How it got to the point where Democrats and Republicans are joining arms about anything at all is hard to fathom. And to someone like Gluesenkamp Perez, that makes headlights an opportunity to appeal to both sides of her purple congressional district. A hugely underrated aspect of the Dune universe's appeal is how Frank Herbert built a world where people zip around the galaxy in spaceships but then fight each other with swords and knives. It makes everything 50 percent cooler than a world of ray guns and robots.
