Trump touts that Israel has “proven” to be a “GREAT Ally” of the US. Trump says Israel’s actions, such as dragging the US into the war against Iran, were “bold”, and, despite repeatedly testing US guidelines and demands, Israel was “loyal.” Trump says other allies have shown their “true colors” as Trump mulls punishing NATO. At the same time, Israel is already pushing for a conflict with a US ally and NATO member, Turkey. The Iran conflict is the first conflict in which Israel actually supported the US militarily, after starting the war following stalled negotiations. The US’ “great ally” is reported to have received US intel to “coach” the President into supporting it, while admin officials viewed a meeting pitch on the issue to be a “bullshit” upsell that led to Trump green-lighting the plans. Other US allies, who have assisted the US in the Middle East countless times, even incurring their own personnel losses, instead took the brunt of the economic damage from the Iran War while being blamed for not participating in a war they weren’t included in planning.
