I’m disappointed the Senate failed to get this bill across the finish line.
South Carolina had an opportunity to finally give voters in the 6th Congressional District a fairer and more competitive map. I have said all along that our state has both the authority and the responsibility to fix it.
This fight is not over.

When faced with the question "What am I going to do with all of this squash," the answer is ALWAYS fry it. 💁🏼♀️
Here’s my recipe:
Ingredients
✨ 2-3 squash
✨ 1 c. all-purpose flour
✨ 1/2 c. yellow cornmeal
✨ 2 tsp. salt
✨ 1/2 tsp. black pepper
✨ 1/4 tsp. garlic powder
✨ 1/4 tsp. onion powder
✨ 1/2 c. buttermilk
✨ 1 beaten egg
✨ paprika to taste
✨ tallow
Directions:
👉🏼 Wash, trim, and slice the squash into thin slices. Pat dry.
👉🏼 Mix your dry ingredients in one bowl and your wet in another.
👉🏼 Heat your tallow in a cast-iron pan over medium-high heat. Test it to make sure it’s ready.
👉🏼 Dip each slice in your buttermilk mixture. Then dredge it in your breading mixture, coating well.
👉🏼 Fry small batches at a time for a few minutes until golden brown. Keep an eye on them—they can cook too fast, and you might need to lower the temperature.
👉🏼 Drain on a paper towel-covered plate.
Serve with ranch and Texas Pete.

If one good thing comes out of this defeat of the redistricting bill, I hope it’s that a lot of conservatives in SC wake up and realize how bad things really are in the SC legislature. Please vote conservative in the primaries and send us reinforcements!
