There are 100 million noncitizens in this country 50% of South Carolina residents were not born in South Carolina We could literally fix the housing and zoning issues OVERNIGHT by just ending work visas and deporting illegals
Trey Walker 🇺🇸@TreyWalker

This is South Carolina’s # 1️⃣ problem. The first GOP candidate for governor to give voice to it - can break away from the “me too pack.” With little fanfare, these local zoning announcements happen every day, adding cars & traffic to roads, more power, data centers, taxes etc.

This Dem legislator’s response lets the mask slip—he and the rest of the SC Democrats simply do the bidding of House Leadership because they see themselves as all part of the same club. They look down on the people they’re supposed to represent.

The SC Dems in the legislature almost always vote in lockstep with the Speaker and Establishment Republicans on major spending bills. The Freedom Caucus is the only real opposition party in SC.

For someone in the legal profession, that’s… quite the argument. 🙄 But if the “dynamic” in the SC House is Democrats and some establishment Republicans work together to stop the most fiscally and socially conservative policies, then yes - people are starting to figure it out.
Leon Stavrinakis🇺🇸🇬🇷✌️@leonstav

@ThomasBeach Well since you went in on us I’ll explain it to you bc you clearly don’t understand the dynamic; it’s simple no one wants to vote for y’all’s dumb shit.

South Carolina Democratic Party@scdp

The Freedom Caucus is calling to defund South Carolina State University for standing up for what’s right. Well, we’ve got something for that. Democrats across the state are running to retire the Freedom Caucus! This is how we stop them: we contest every race. #scpol #scdems

Lindsey Graham is going after @MarkLynchSC over his arrest from 1984… the year I was BORN. 🍼👶 I literally laughed out loud when I heard this. Meanwhile, Graham is asking S.C. parents to send our sons and daughters to war…. RIGHT NOW. 🤦‍♀️

I Will Take Down the Columbia Corruption Part 2: The People Behind the Dark Money of The SC Integrity Watch I am going to attack illegal lobbying at the State House like no Attorney General has ever done before, and that has some in Columbia very worried. The vast majority of lobbyists and legislators do things the right way, but there are some who create an unlevel playing field by exercising improper influence. That ends when I am Attorney General. For months, I have said that Republicans do not control Columbia. Democrats do not control it either. Power in Columbia rests with a small network of trial lawyers and political operatives who understand how to use money, influence, and coordination to shape outcomes behind the scenes. If you want to understand how that system operates, you do not have to speculate. You can look directly at what happened during last year’s tort reform debate. In the middle of that debate, State Senator Tom Fernandez stood on the Senate floor and raised concerns about what appeared to be a potential bribe tied to pending legislation. That is one of the most serious claims that can be made in a legislative body. The appropriate response would have been immediate scrutiny, transparency, and a commitment to determine the truth. Instead, the Senate recessed. When it returned, the issue was effectively set aside. That sequence alone should concern anyone who expects accountability from their government. It becomes even more serious when you consider what followed. News outlets, including The Post and Courier, have since reported that the FBI is investigating those same allegations. What was dismissed in the moment is now the subject of a federal inquiry. I have vowed months ago that on my first day in office, I will also investigate the matter. After that pledge, not by coincidence, the SC Integrity Watch came after me with a vengeance. They are primarily funded by certain trial lawyers. Some have looked me in the eye and told me so. That's right, trial lawyers are trying to influence a Republican primary. And their tactics are very similar to what they did last year in the tort reform fight. During last year's tort reform debate, a coordinated political response was unfolding in public view. A network of anonymous Twitter accounts began targeting Senator Shane Massey for leading the reform effort. The accounts were not independent actors. They repeated identical talking points, amplified each other’s posts, and created the appearance of widespread opposition where none existed organically. Outside figures, including Laura Loomer, were brought in to increase the volume and reach of those attacks. That pattern should look familiar, because it is happening again to me. The same accounts, using the same tactics and the same messaging structure, are now targeting my campaign on a daily basis. This is not coincidence. It reflects an organized effort with defined objectives and consistent execution. When you follow that trail, it leads to a political operative named Chris Slick, who by coincidence left the country following the announcement of the FBI investigation and has yet to return. Mr. Slick is not a peripheral figure. He has been directly involved in South Carolina political operations and served as the consultant for State Senator Matt Leber. Very good sources tell me that Slick ran Leber's dark money campaign for senate. I've actually seen some of the amounts certain trial lawyers put into the Sllck/Leber dark money independent expenditure. It is the same lawyers whom went up to Columbia opposing tort reform. Leber’s actions provide another piece of this picture. Leber publicly opposed tort reform. It has been reported that he also received a $25,000 personal check from trial lawyer Peter Protopapas, who also serves on the Judicial Merit Selection Commission. After receiving that purported loan, Leber now publicly opposes efforts to reform the Judicial Merit Selection Commission. That is right. Despite over 90% of Republican voters demanding judicial reform on the 2024 Presidential Primary ballot, Senator Leber opposes meaningful judicial reform. Mr. Protopapas is a huge contributor to the dark money against our candidacy for Attorney General...go figure. So how does this make us feel Republican voters knowing a handful trial lawyers are trying to influence our election? We are not surprised. Go read my 2018 Grand Jury Report at scsolicitor1.org. This is not the first time they've tried to influence an election with dark money. Protopapas is not an isolated actor. He is deeply tied to the financial structure that underpins this system. He has earned significant sums through the asbestos docket, a process that has drawn scrutiny for the way funds are allocated and distributed. The same financial network connected to that work is also tied to the political activity now targeting my campaign. When you step back and evaluate the full set of facts, a clear pattern emerges. A legislator raises allegations of bribery tied to legislation. The issue is dismissed internally but later draws federal attention. A coordinated network of political accounts attacks the legislator leading reform. The same network later targets a candidate who has committed to dismantling the system. Political operatives connected to those efforts are tied to elected officials and financial beneficiaries of the status quo. Money flows from trial lawyers to legislators. Those legislators then take positions that align with the interests of those funding them. None of this is random. None of it is disconnected. It is a corrupt system designed to manipulate government for personal gain. It is a system that protects itself, rewards participation, and responds aggressively to any threat. It operates through influence, coordination, and financial leverage, and it depends on the assumption that no one will connect the dots or act on what they find. This is not about politics. It is about whether the rule of law applies equally, or whether it can be bent by those with enough money and influence to avoid scrutiny. If I am elected Attorney General, these matters will not be ignored. They will be examined, methodically and without regard to who is involved. That is not a campaign message. It is a statement of how the law is supposed to work. I have said many times: judge me by my enemies. Now I want a simple question posed: who would benefit and be the happiest if I was not elected as our next Attorney General? The lawyer legislators and a handful of trial lawyers think their money can defeat our movement to the Attorney General's Office. Let's prove them wrong!

110 amendments. Zero tax hikes. We gutted the bad road bill. While Columbia was ready to hand counties a new tax burden and stack another layer of bureaucracy on top of a broken system, conservatives forced the GOP back to the table: and we won. Here's what we killed: ❌ The CCTM — gone ❌ Forced transfer of state roads to counties & cities ❌ The mandate requiring CTCs to spend 1/3 of their funds on state roads ❌ Permission for local governments to raise your taxes and millage Here's what passed: ✅ Direct appointment of DOT Secretary by the Governor ✅ County transportation committees spend their money how THEY see fit ✅ No new bureaucracy Is it perfect? No. Does it fix our roads? Not yet. But it's 10x better than the 19,000-word mess they started with. Now here's what nobody wants to talk about: we don't need a tax increase to fix our roads. The Senate is sitting on $145M in earmarks. The House has $200M. We gave the Panthers $135M for a training facility they never used. We handed Scout $1.6 billion. I personally found $400 million in waste in our state budget. The money is there. What we need is the will to spend it right. That's why I'm cosponsoring H5362 and H5363, a conservative road fix plan with regional directors, dedicated budgets, and a pavement preservation program. No new taxes. No new commissions. Just results. Call your Senator. Tell them to vote YES on S831 as amended. And if you want roads actually fixed — send me more conservatives to vote with. #SCPolitics #FixOurRoads #NoTaxHike

Last week I asked for unanimous consent in the SC State House to suspend the gas tax for 60 days. People and businesses are hurting with the spike in energy costs, and I think suspending the gas tax is the least we can do. My motion was blocked by the House Majority Leader. People need relief now. Not when things start to spiral and get worse. Now.
