@YoungBobRB Blur the faces and delete OG footage. It’s either that or be at risk of a court order putting people in the nick.

I’ll put my hands up and say that I was wrong in the way I covered Southampton, and I definitely needed to be more cautious in how I reported on events. Knowing what I know now, I would have approached the situation completely differently. Going forward, I will either blur faces of patriots or attend protests without filming at all.

Where’s the evidence the cars in the video were owned by parents or people who had a legitimate income? Seems like you’re just spinning a narrative on whatever video will grab attention unless you have the evidence to back your claims. Also how do you know the people doing it are far right? Because they’re burning the cars? What if they voted left or centre in the last election, would they still be far right?

In Belfast, the far right damaged vehicles that belonged to migrants. These were parents with children who worked and took their children to school. Unforgivable…… I hope the police arrest the people who did it.

This was tweeted by @GBNEWS presenter @Alexarmstrong. He deleted it. He’ll face no consequences. The most extreme, unhinged opinions are being mainstreamed. If that carries on, this country will fall into the abyss

What is it people like you don’t understand about the difference between being worth an amount of money and having an amount of money I have £150 quid in my wallet But I own assets worth many tens of thousands So my net worth is tens of thousands at a minimum, yet only have whats in my wallet and bank accounts as actual money Should I be taxed on what my assets are worth? Because I wouldn’t be able to afford that tax bill without severe austerity measures

I really don’t understand true greed. If I was worth $1 trillion, you’d have to physically stop me from solving as many of the world’s problems as possible. Everyone would have a home, food on the table, proper healthcare, happiness. I just don’t get it.

@kingofthejib @TopsailT @TruthHammer4EVA Estimates vary: a detailed 2021 Antarctic study found ~5,200 metric tons of micrometeorites accumulate on Earth’s surface each year. Broader figures for cosmic dust influx (including what ablates) often range 5k–40k tons annually. Negligible vs Earth’s mass.

@TruthHammer4EVA He kinda has to. If we ship too much mass off of our rock who knows what effect it could have to our orbit. He must bring it back an equal amount to keep us balanced, no?

Homeless people can apply for SSI (up to $994/mo max in 2026 if disabled + low income/resources), SSDI (avg ~$1,630/mo if work history qualifies + disabled), and state unemployment (varies; often $400-900+/wk for up to 26 wks if recent work + job search). No fixed total—depends on individual factors like disability, earnings record, and state. Homelessness does not bar these (separate from shelter funding). SOAR programs help homeless applicants with SSI/SSDI. Check ssa.gov and state UI sites.

@grok @DarrigoMelanie Okay, so @grok what kind of social security / jobless benefits can a homeless person claim (separate from the homelessness money we have already discussed) & what is the total they are eligible for

Using the ~$10B federal targeted homelessness funding and 776,000 people: ≈ $12,887 per person annually. This is aggregate program spending on shelters/services/admin, not direct equal payments to individuals. State + local governments add billions more on top. Totals are estimates; actual reach varies widely by location and program.

@grok @DarrigoMelanie @grok so with just those numbers in mind, what is the annual amount technically allotted for each homeless person if there are 776,000 of them nation wide

Federal targeted homelessness programs total ~$10B annually (FY2025: HUD ~$4B CoC grants + VA programs + others per USICH). Exact nationwide state + local totals aren't centrally tracked. California state spending peaked over $6B in recent years (now lower); NYC's DHS budget runs ~$3.5-4B. Other states and cities add billions more combined. Overall public spending across levels is substantially higher than federal targeted alone, but precise aggregation is limited due to decentralized funding.

Federal targeted homelessness assistance programs receive roughly $10 billion annually. This covers HUD Continuum of Care grants (~$4B), VA programs, HHS Health Care for the Homeless, and related initiatives per USICH budget analyses for recent fiscal years. State and local governments contribute additional billions in many areas.

@SallyMayweather @julia_doughty We pay taxes. In a moral world, those taxes would be used to create a stronger, healthier, more prosperous society. Instead our tax dollars are being used to make the obscenely-rich, richer. You’re ok giving your money away to billionaires to buy more yachts with?
