Keep in mind, he said this in Alberta, an energy dependent province currently run by the Trump loving Danielle Smith who was made multiple trips Mar-a-Lago and spoken to a group of businessman in Houston on how Alberta can be part of America’s energy dominance. I hope Albertson’s haven’t forgotten the second pipeline to BC recently got approved by both levels of government. still not sure what Carney was supposed to say about energy and trade negotiations with the US while standing in Alberta.

Guess you flunked economics 101. The US does not make or have enough forest products, agricultural products, potash, fertilizer, aluminum steel, oil and gas (yes you get a lot of oil and gas from Canada), uranium and rare minerals (for your cell phones and computers), auto parts and hundreds of other products. The US is decades away from being able to produce 100% of the products American companies and consumers rely on. Fact is no country on earth produces 100% of what it needs.

@CTVNews The USA will just buy comparable US products, which are cheaper since there are no tariffs on US items. Then 🇨🇦 will lay off its workers that sell product to the US because no one will buy them. No economic impact to the 🇺🇸

@CTVNews They love to criticize but hate to be criticized. Given recent actions by ICE and their allegiance to Israel and it’s debacle in Gaza I think there’s a lot to criticize.

Do you even know the meaning of the word? Treason is the act of betraying one’s country by deliberately harming the state or helping its enemies. In Canada, it has a very specific legal meaning under the Criminal Code — it’s not just a general insult or political accusation. Legal definition of treason in Canada Under Section 46 of the Criminal Code, treason includes acts such as: Using force or violence to overthrow the government Assisting an enemy at war with Canada Helping someone commit treason Attempting to harm or kill the King, Governor General, or Prime Minister Waging war against Canada These are extremely serious offences and are almost never charged. Carney has Stood up to Trump Witked to unify tge counyry (Slverta’s new pipeline oroject, etc.) Tried to diversify Csnada’s trade away from its over reliabce on the US Work to syrengtgen Canada’s northern infrastructure Sought to work closely with our European allies. Stayed out of the recent middle mess I could go on. In short at no point in the past year and a half has he committed treason or anything approaching it.

You should reallu fo some research before making statements like that. How a Prime Minister can be removed mid‑term Loss of confidence (the main way) If the House of Commons votes that it no longer has confidence in the government, the Prime Minister must either: resign, or request a new election from the Governor Genera Confidence votes can happen through a formal motion of non‑confidence, defeat of a budget, defeat of a major supply bill. This is the real mechanism for removal — not petitions or public pressure. Party leadership removal A Prime Minister is also the leader of their political party. If their own party caucus or membership forces a leadership review and chooses a new leader, the PM is effectively removed. This is how Justin Trudeau was replaced by Mark Carney in 2025. 3.Resignation A PM may resign

@myabradshaw78 Sadly unlike the states we have no way to remove a bad leader, our ethics commission has no teeth and can only wag fingers and say "that was a bad thing now don't do it again ok?" Trudeau got away with it and Carney will too.

So because that’s the way it’s always been. That’s the way it always has to be. We’re thinking like that would be still living in caves, using Flint rocks to start fires and hunting with spears. The past relationship simply demonstrates complacency and it’s time for that to change in recent years. Canada has opened new trade with the EU and Pacific countries those efforts need to continue and we need to diversify a way from the US. Just because we share a longboard doesn’t mean the US has to be our biggest trading partner. Germany’s longest border is with Russia but their biggest trading partner is China.

Trump isn't wrong... Elbows Up need a serious reality check. We've never been on the winning side of this deal. We're like a little brother living off of the bigger brother's credit card and complaining when he starts holding us accountable. We need them. They DON'T need us! To say otherwise is to deny reality. Quick Facts! • 71.7% of Canada’s goods exports went to the U.S. in 2025. • The U.S. bought roughly $500 billion in Canadian goods that year. • 85.7% of Canadian exporting companies sold goods to the U.S. • For 65.9% of Canadian exporters, the U.S. was their only foreign market. • Canada–U.S. goods trade exceeded $1 trillion in 2024. • About 90% of Canadian crude-oil exports went to the U.S. • That represented roughly 3.9 million barrels per day. • Those oil exports were worth about $126 billion. • Canada also received about 75.6% of its imported crude oil from the U.S. • Roughly 94% of Canadian vehicle-and-parts exports went to the U.S. • Those vehicle-and-parts exports were worth about $75.6 billion. • Auto parts can cross the border six to eight times before final assembly. • More than half of Canada’s services trade is with the U.S. • About 46% of all foreign direct investment in Canada comes from the U.S. • U.S. investment in Canada exceeds $700 billion. • Nearly half of Canadian direct investment abroad is in the U.S. • Canadian investment in the U.S. is roughly $1.2 trillion. • Around 59% of Canadian foreign financial assets are tied to the U.S. • The U.S. buys roughly 70% of Canadian seafood exports. • Canada’s defence relies heavily on the U.S. through NORAD and American military infrastructure. • Canada would survive as a country, but losing the U.S. market would trigger a severe national economic and defence crisis.

What would happen to Trump‘s control of the strait of Hormuz in the US power in the region, if countries in region actually learned to work together regardless of religion or politics? That would include Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman. #IranWar

So Carney is a fan of Trump eh? Why don’t we have a trade deal? Why is there such a fight over a Canadian steel and aluminum? Why is Canada buying new military equipment overseas? Why was it such a big deal about the new Gordie Howe bridge? Why did Canada side with Denmark over Greenland at the NATO meetings? Why has he added retaliate for a tariff on goods to the states during Trump’s first round of tariffs? Why is Carney now working with Alberta to expand oil exports to Asia via BC? I could go on, The next time you wanna make a statement like that try doing a little research maybe you won’t look like such a moron.

When will Liberals finally admit to themselves that Carney is secretly a Donald Trump fanboy? He's been praising him since 2018. How many more concessions does he have to give Trump before they finally admit Carney is a closeted MAGA man who's too afraid to tell everyone. 🤣

Over throwing terrorist regimes! Are you drunk or just stupid? He’s a long way from winning in the middle east. Wsit until other countries in middle east decidd the vedt wsy to get their oil to market us to work with Iran and give the U.S. the boot. Barely 7% of oil passing through the strait of Hormuz is bound for the U.S. So letting the U.S. essentially control 100% of the oil that passes through the strait makes no sense.

OK, I’ll give you the booze band thing but a dairy cartel? The major reason for the way dairy marketed in Canada is to keep out the hormones and steroids so many other side producers like in the US use. If the US eliminates hormones abd steroids ftom dsity cows, they might find the Canadian market a little more open.

@CTVNews Why do we still have the booze ban? All it does is mess up a negotiated trade deal. Also get rid of our dairy cartel. What happened to Carney being a good negotiator? He was going to get a deal last year he promised. What an overrated failure Carney is.

Sad that you’re actually favoured Trump and his narcissistic war among attitude. it’s gonna take way more than this to cripple the Canadian economy because someone later even a moron like Trump is gonna realize the easiest place to get a lot of what he needs in the US is in Canada from steel and aluminum agricultural products to oil and gas to the rare metals needed in Silicon Valley. The sad part of Canada‘s economy is that it’s taken us this long to realize you can’t rely solely on one country even at that country is the US and it’s just over the border. Just like a smart stock market investor would do we need to diversify. if you’re still enamoured with Trump and his version of America, why don’t you get the hell out go to the states and get your green card? Then you too can goose step with the rest of the MAGA morons.
