@elawreads No. They wander around and pretend play. The kids at my school love swinging and jump ropes, but they mostly just drag the jump ropes around. They definitely don’t organize games like kickball. (Recess duty 2 x a week.)

@elawreads I just finished Demon Copperhead and loved it! I have to admit that I’ve never read David Copperfield. If your cousin is a Kingsolver fan, I think they will enjoy it.

I'm really enjoying Barbara Kingsolver's Demon Copperhead. I'm thinking of giving a copy to my cousin, who loved Poisonwood Bible, for Christmas. The question is, she's not familiar with David Copperfield. Any opinions on whether that will significantly hinder her enjoyment?[1/2]

@Barbaradee2 Maybe He Just Likes You was one of her favorites on the NC Middle School Battle of the Books list last year! I think she’ll enjoy this one too.

@Kia, in the year 2022, why is a phone number the “only way” to get in touch with customer care? And how about the option to leave a callback number instead of hrs on hold?

Sometimes I get annoyed when I see people complaining about companies via Twitter, but after the week I had with @Kia, I totally get it. 2 rental cars, a tow truck, and 4 hrs on hold with customer care and I still can’t speak to someone.

I get picture book biographies submitted a lot, and I am curious what your favorites are-- the ones you read to kids, or that circulate in your library. I want to compile a list of really good ones on a diverse group. I have a few favorites but would love a bigger list. Thx!

@katchow Loved that one! I reread it several times. And, if you haven’t read Hour of the Witch by @ChrisBohjalian, look for it! It’s kind of a grown up version of Blackbird Pond.

found this in my childhood bedroom when I recently went back to Connecticut. did anyone else love this as a kid, or was it just me, maybe because it’s set in my hometown?

Enjoyed giving away 400+ books in our last week of ACS summer school! Thank you, @Malaprops for helping us reach that goal, and for being the best local bookstore a librarian could ask for. #theACSWay
