@kitsucore @juste_thibaudV2 Do you have data showing AI servers consume more energy than all video streaming and gaming services combined? YouTube alone serves billions of hours worth of video, and video streaming is one of the largest sources of internet traffic worldwide.

@DaRealNateBM I know my little protest will do next to nothing, but I personally don't feel comfortable developing for a platform that actively uses GenAI (and seems to encourage the use of it, given the state of Discover).

@kitsucore I get it’s the principle of them doing it but doing all this isn’t gonna change a thing AND you’re giving up on something you like to do. Don’t let stupid shit like that cloud your drive to use your manmade creativity. It’s not worth giving up on such amazing projects.

@stellarstye You're right that a big part of the internet is connected to GenAI in one way or another, as sucky as that is, but it doesn't hurt to try to distance myself from as much of it as I can.

@kitsucore By your logic you should unplug your router and never connect to the internet ever again, almost every website out there is connected to some API which actively uses Generative AI, whether it’s collecting data or using it to perform a set of functions

@Ashleyxxo_ I don't believe all AI is bad; AI has its uses in the scientific and medical fields, and I applaud the people developing those kinds of AIs, but GenAI specifically in my opinion is not ethical or good in any way.

@kitsucore The worst part is they’re not even using it to mass produce slop, they’re using it as a TOOL, they’re still creating the design. I can imagine you going up towards a doctor that finds the cure to cancer and telling them to go fuck themselves because they used AI 🤣🤦‍♀️

@riftibleman I understand that very little people actually care about my content, but if there's even a single person who cares, it wouldn't be right to leave them in the dark.

@Spoc_0 @juste_thibaudV2 I don't doubt that servers used by services like YouTube have an impact on the environment, but comparing the sheer amount of energy and cooling needed between media/game servers and AI servers is like comparing a batch of TNT to an atomic bomb.

@kitsucore @juste_thibaudV2 You should stop streaming movies, watching youtube, and playing games because they're all impacting the environment too. massive amounts of data are being moved and processed by server farms globally 24/7.

@juste_thibaudV2 I refuse to support or associate with a game or company using a tool as unethical and harmful to the environment as GenAI; and this isn't a "minimal" case: AI is being used to completely change artist concepts and generate entire sections of a final concept.

@kitsucore There's no way you delibarately chose to waste the potential of these maps because of the super minimal use of AI that Epic is doing since probably months already, if they never did that public clarification you wouldn't have noticed that use of AI Loved Chronos OG reimagined :(

mfw I spend thousands of hours on multiple high-quality UEFN projects only for epic to ruin their entire game in a matter of months

Lastly, I would like to apologize for the lack of updates for both Chronos and Aurora; life has not been treating me well lately, and it's been tough to keep up the motivation for much at all. Now, I'm back for the most part, and I hope to see you all on the battle bus!

BRINGING THE FUTURE INTO THE PAST Chronos: Rebooted's launch will take a more Reload-esque approach to some loot, featuring some weapons that are unfamiliar to the original Chapter 1 experience, but I feel fit within the same formula that the chapter had.
