I used to work at a hot topic in HS and the loss prevention system was such a massive part of the job because of how many kids would come in and steal. It was in a really wealthy area with an office job industry but there was still a healthy mix of races and ethnicities. More than anything, the emo white high school girls were always the ones stealing little things they absolutely didnt need. And more often than not they at least didnt APPEAR like they were struggling for money. And even if they were, hot topic jewelry and toys arent a life necessity.
