Strasburg 15W is the final NDAWN station installed as part of a multi-year, multi-state project – USACE Upper Missouri River Basin Soil Moisture and Plains Snow Monitoring Build-Out!!
We would like to thank all our partners and landowners who made this possible 💚 #ndwx
Below are maps showing the peak wind gusts from the derecho that passed through North Dakota and Minnesota from June 20 - 21, 2025 #derecho#wind#ndwx#mnwx
My heart goes out to all the North Dakotans affected by severe weather and tornadoes last night 💔 widespread violent wind from a derecho. My folks north of Carrington are OK, but think a QLCS tornado may have gone just north or south of their house
@sydneyw_wx lots of people around here have vouched for a radar in Wadena! they’ve experienced some really tragic tornadoes in this area over the years
Minneapolis friends: I'm staying downtown for a few days, after having not lived there for over 20 years (I used to live in the Elliot Park neighborhood). Any great food recommendations for while I'm there?

🌤 Happy World Meteorological Day! ⛈️
From 3 ➡️ 230 stations, our mission at NDAWN has always been the same – to provide the best agricultural weather data to our communities.
Thus, it's only fitting that our favorite day follows our favorite week, #AgWeek. #NDwx#wx
Little chilly this morning❓🥶
Well... wouldn't you know we were actually COLDER than North Dakota, how is that for an air mass change!
@NWSGrandForks please come collect your cold air, we don't want it anymore!

The Banks @NDAWNmesonet was hit by a poorly aimed shotgun, with the solar panel taking the most damage. A first for NDAWN, but sadly I figured it would happen eventually. 🙄 #mesonetproblems
The last winter instrument is our trusty 𝘀𝗻𝗼𝘄 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲! Snow stakes are marked every inch up to 40" to measure the snow. To maintain accuracy because of snow drifting & variation, we use three at most stations that have a camera to obtain an average snow depth 📷 #WinterWx
