With waiting lists at their worst in my memory this could be the final nail in the coffin and force many senior surgeons to leave the NHS. We need to lobby our politicians to urgently sort this mess @columeastwood

Orthopaedic surgeons seeing patients referred by their GP in 2016. Many will wait until 2026 for surgery. That’s a decade between referral and treatment. A decade!! Pretty galling then to watch the DUP sign on today for a salary to do nothing and hold all to ransom @StephenNolan

@DessieGibson_ Some of our politicians should digest this fact instead of arguing about ‘flegs’ and the like. The next 20 years looks grim for our patients needing any orthopaedic treatment and that’s coming from an optimist.
