UPDATE (via reports out of Tennessee): Lee faced a judge this morning, with the judge ruling for Lee to be held without bond. Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty. Details emerged from the alleged murder. Lee’s girlfriend, identified as Gabriella Carvalho Perpetuo, had a stab wound, a broken neck, a bite mark and bruises. The cause of death was determined to be blunt force trauma. Lee is charged with first-degree murder.

The NBA allows therapeutic use exemptions (TUEs) for certain prohibited medications if players apply in advance and receive approval from the league's medical director. If Paul George had obtained a TUE before taking the medication, he likely wouldn't have been suspended. Without prior approval, even for therapeutic use, it violates the policy.
