I have scrolled through the "experts" telling us why primary care is so hard and how to fix it. The "fix" starts with greater investment (real money, not incentives) and then with getting rid of all the administrative trash that clutters the days of primary care physicians.

I am so saddened and angry about what took place in Kansas City today. A day of celebration and joy that evolved into a tragedy because of gun violence - an all too common experience in the US. My thoughts are with those individuals and families impacted by this horrific act.

CMS Administrator Chiquita Brooks-LaSure announced at Energy & Commerce hearing today the agency will no longer issue warnings to hospitals not making "good faith" effort to comply with price transparency rules. They'll move straight to the "corrective action" phase.

1/ today, the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) adopted a set of guiding principles for value-based payments for primary care I wasn't asked to review, but I believe that payers, purchasers, and policymakers should adopt this list as their own- or explain why not:
