Straight talking. Doesn't suffer fools gladly ❤ NHS Scotland deserves better than anything the SNP have to offer. #mentalhealth #equality #education

On the day Nicola Sturgeon announces £500 NHS thank you payment for all staff, my brother was telling his staff they will be out of a job come 24th Dec as he's closing his restaurant for good.

Hello @stephenctimms - please can you engage with us over Veterans benefits being taken away over their Armed Forces compensation awards being counted as “savings”. There is something so unbelievably cruel about that term. No injury from service/war should be referred to as such

@kkstuart @FemaleScotlandV @Pabel5Pabel Did the cuts also introduce hoardes of foreigners? Successive governments have done this, no point blaming the tories alone. They’re all the same.

Apparently Malcolm Offord has taken a walk round Glaswegian communities at night time, and in the East End of Glasgow. Apparently he was also gobsmacked. Good. There needs to be more Politicians who take walks round Glasgow, Dundee, Aberdeen, all over Scotland, in our most deprived communities. They need to see - first hand - what the lived experience of Scots is, and what we are dealing with on a daily, nightly and weekly basis. SNP and Labour have done this to our country. We need to Vote them out.

EXCL: 65% of people back the assisted dying bill, just 14% oppose it, as it’s held up in the Lords. One dying man pleads with peers from his hospice bed to give him a choice. ITV News is featuring stories from both sides of the debate as time runs out. itv.com/news/2026-03-1…

Honestly the @scotgov is a disgrace The same country that thinks men should share toilets with wee girls and jail cells with vulnerable women also thinks your 96 year old gran with cancer and heart failure doesn’t deserve a humane passing!

@greengiant1888 @ImFromCle There's no concrete evidence of the Highland pipe existing in Ireland. Put it this way if one goes to Edinburgh they'll hear bagpipes, if they go to Dublin they won't.

@Seansfanclub Yep seen it happen. I also also seen some groomed. No medic meeting the patient for a short time would ever pick up coercion. The public guardian is useless. Only interested if one can show evidence of financial mismanagement.

On the assisted dying bill. A lot of people mention coercion as a reason to vote no. I had a close family member who was coerced by the son and daughter he trusted and adored. Power of attorney is a bigger threat to the wellbeing of the old and sick than anything.

@kkstuart @newcogawaJ @scotgov It was only to be allowed if someone had capacity to request it themselves, suffered a terminal illness, and would have been self administered. Safeguards were in place to mitigate anything you said above. Starving and dehydrating someone to death is cruel!

@newcogawaJ @scotgov Here's the issue. No one should be killed so that relatives can save themselves from watching a loved one die. That leads to coercion, which this bill had no safeguards in place to avoid.

@kkstuart @scotgov Doesnt matter how many nurses you have watching a loved one essentially suffocate to death isn’t humane

@andrewlearmonth There are over 4m voters. Only 14000 answered his consultation. He's deluded if he thinks that constitutes overwhelming support for his bill. Mr McArthur will leave with his political legacy being reaching the dizzy heights of deputy presiding officer.

“This is coming back.” Speaking to journalists in Holyrood after the defeat of his assisted dying bill, Liam McArthur says the public overwhelmingly want a change in the law.

@ClareAdamsonSNP We can not have a system of assisted suicide that focuses on relatives rather than the person who is dying. All those testimonials were about them and how they felt. We can see from their stories why coercion is central and would be seen in the majority of cases.

Moments ago, the Scottish Parliament voted against Liam McArthur MSP’s assisted dying Bill, by 69 to 57 with one abstention. This means that the Bill will fall and we will have to keep fighting for law change in Scotland.
