Based on what I continue to be told by multiple sources, nothing has changed and Vegas has not granted permission for Edmonton to speak with Cassidy.

@FriedgeHNIC reported on 32 thoughts (today) that as of last night, Vegas had NOT granted permission for Cassidy to speak with the Oilers. I have no information to suggest that's changed.

This is likely about Bowman needing to demonstrate that he's conducting an actual coaching search/process, rather than it appearing that he's simply waiting to talk to Cassidy. Vegas can no longer argue that Bowman is simply waiting them out.

If Cassidy doesn't get leave to get new employment, you seriously either give Woodcroft or Carle a call.

OILERS COACHING SEARCH: In addition to Berube, I've confirmed that the Oilers have shown interest in former LA Kings coach, Jim Hiller. Cassidy remains the Oiler's #1 HC target.
