Based on what I continue to be told by multiple sources, nothing has changed and Vegas has not granted permission for Edmonton to speak with Cassidy.

@imralanyrx @JFreshHockey @Mattxduchak @Kustard15 @danobny I wonder why. When McLeod was coming up he didn’t score his first goal for a long time and then he struggled more later on with the oilers. Then he was great in Buffalo last year. I know you probably don’t like Savoie but I appreciate that you gave him the benefit of doubt

Could it be that Savoie is just unlucky? I’m not saying he’s perfect defensively but since I’m bias it feels like nothing goes his way in game

@williemcbean @Mattxduchak @imralanyrx @Kustard15 @danobny the 0th percentile finishing is also playing a huge role here. the card is seeing a 30 game sample in which savoie has 3 goals on 8 expected goals + has the worst on-ice defensive metrics on the team at 5v5, so it's not going to look good. that doesn't mean he's doomed

@Mattxduchak @imralanyrx @JFreshHockey @Kustard15 @danobny I hate to bring in the tough schedule bout for a Rookie where everything is new and you’re travelling more then any team, wouldn’t it be difficult to really establish your defensive game when everything is a disaster? He always does well on the pk and I trust him more then most

I may sounds silly but I don’t understand the cards when Savoie has been ok offensively but definitely his rating makes him the worst in the league. Has he improved at all since game 1?

He did struggle in the first 15 games, but I dont think you could count on 1 hand the amount of rookies that would’ve been great with the way the oil were going

I don’t think knob would throw him on the PK if he was this bad defensively 5v5 and luck has to have something to do with it, Which dmen he’s deployed with, etc.

Yeah he had a rough first 15 games before he scored, but since then he’s been good imo. The whole oiler team has been bad and he’s a rookie like idk why it’s a Savoie hate train

The offensive attack that Kris Knoblauch had in Hartford is not remotely being attempted in Edmonton. Maybe by design, but it’s worth a try. The team, especially D are settling for regroups and delays instead of attacking up ice asap. This D group has to get going N-S quick.

@thackattack41 What are your thoughts on the McDavid situation? Personally I’m very worried and I’m not sure what to think. Have you heard anything positive about this contract?

@AlClemBee @Shae_Nuge93 Why is 4 not likely? Like seriously. Vegas lost Roy, petrangelo and Hague which makes there defence a lot worse. La isn’t better and the oil got younger (albeit less experienced) and faster. There are more unknowns but they aren’t even 10% worse.
