To embrace it risks the charge of selling out. At once homage and critique, Die Grotesk is a breath of fresh air that acknowledges the tension between creative integrity and commercial reality.

In an industry where commercial pressure and corporate monopoly conditions our typographic landscape, making yet another grotesk seems like the ultimate compromise. To dismiss Helvetica denies its power.

@jonas_nobile @Mike_Andreuzza Mate, I’m not saying you shouldn’t have a metric! If anything, “users” is an *extremely* fair metric to have. How would you feel if, say, both Apple (1,000+ users) and a solo developer of blog themes paid the same low fee for your work? There *should* be a metric.

@klimtypefoundry @Mike_Andreuzza Ohh, it’s your checkout. But you are right, there shouldn’t be any metrics. You should be able to buy a font for yourself or your company and don’t worry about some stupid metrics. We will update our licensing soon.

@Mike_Andreuzza Yes, due structure of digital typefaces (Collection / Family / Style) it’s logical to convey this hierarchy by listing it as such on the buy page, as demonstrated across virtually all foundries. I’d nitpick and say it’s not the “default”, because it’s not pre-selected… but hey!
