Been getting a lot of people telling me I dislike Aubry bc I haven't liked her winner's edit. I'll admit I don't like the fact that the show is shoving her down our throats as secretly responsible for every move. But I think Aubry's playing a really strong game, especially given her position. Aubry initially was on the outs and everybody's consensus target. Somehow she has laid low, stayed under the radar, and built up her position. If Aubry came out hard guns-blazing, then she would already have been sent home, like so many others who tried to seize control. Instead, she's been patiently building relationships and finding small moments to influence strategy. She keeps herself a part of every conversation. Even selling out that Rick was idol hunting was another great way to integrate herself with the power players. Now she's in everyone's ear, and has the capacity to nudge the game in a way that benefits her. She is thinking not just about getting out threats, but who the right people are to sit next to in the final 3, which is much rarer among #Survivor players than you would think. She's playing the game she has to, which honestly is the best Survivor virtue there is.
What's also really remarkable about Aubry this season is how DIFFERENT her game is than her previous outings. In Kaoh Rong, Aubry was the strategic power player, who somehow repeatedly rebounded from the medevac of multiple close allies. Here, she's shown she can adapt and play a very different, more under-the-radar game. She also clearly learned from her time on Edge of Extinction, where she was booted for playing too hard.
I've found commenting anything about Aubry brings out all kinds of feelings from people, in a way that seems different than opinions about most other contestants. (Maybe this is also true of Jonathan). Overall I don't love her edit but am really enjoying her game!

maybe if Cirie agrees to vote out Rizo at Final 7, then Devens at Final 6 (he is the common enemy) , and Tiffany at Final 5 (because she's a jury threat and a challenge beast), THEN CIRIE MIGHT HAVE WON 😭😭 #Survivor50

For the pedantic, Aubry was still in the running after taking advantage of the edge of extinction.
Two of the castaways who've made the finale in back-to-back seasons but haven't been back for their third?
Her fellow Kaôh Rōng finalists, Michele and Tai.

Cirie Fields is hands down the greatest Survivor player of all time, with or without a win. #Survivor #Survivor50

I think that Rizo has a shot to win if he sits to Jonathan and Joe at the end than with Cirie and Ozzy so his move was valid!!

It is mildly infuriating that Rizo would rather lose Survivor to Jonathan and Aubry than Cirie and Ozzy #survivor50

One of the many things I love about Cirie is, whether on an island, in a house, or in a castle, she's always been immensely grateful for the show that took a chance on her 20 years ago. An environment that allowed us, and her, to realize how much of a badass she truly is
It's what brought her back for a record sixth time on #Survivor50. And it's how she put together perhaps her most impressive game ever.

"I always feel lucky."
What a profound statement to not only speak to staking your entire game on a coin flip, but also the immense gratitude you brought to every step you took on #Survivor50, every glance up at the stars
You may have been an alternate at one point, @Rick_Devens. But I can't imagine Season 50 without you

This is when #Survivor is at its absolute best. Two friends with genuine love and respect for each other, also playing HARD to get the other one out. #Survivor50

9 seasons of RTV, 2 wins, the greatest player to never win #Survivor. Cirie taught us so much. She’s pioneered so much strategy and time and again proves just how much of a force she is. Her legacy will stand the test of time. Thank you for getting up off the couch #Survivor50

My queen 😭😭😭. You didn’t win, but you played an amazing game that just shows how masterful you are at social strategy. You have cemented yourself on not only the Mount Rushmore of #Survivor players, but of all reality TV. 🫶🏾 #Survivor50

Aubry is using the Sophie Clarke playbook. She's weaponized the simpleminded yet hubristic games of Joe & Jonathan.
They are her Coach & Albert and if they sit at the end together, she'll win solely based on the fact she actually knows how to spell her own name.
