Dear School Districts If you are forcing your teachers/staff to give up their prep periods to cover for a teaching vacancy due to lack of substitutes — you will soon have another teaching vacancy that you will need coverage for. From a teacher who is broken down:

Quick coaching question--this is a little research for my #TLC2021 keynote--what have you learned as a coach that has helped you in your life outside of school?

After people under your care leave you, you can’t control what happens to them. All you can do is your very best while you have them with you, and hope that someone else in their future will love them too. Some people plant, others water, but God alone grows the seeds.

@pernilleripp Just wondering- is it Lexia or the way it is being presented by T?? S need to be taught how the program is helping them with their reading. I think Lexia is a good program when used along with good instruction.

As a supt it’s in my contract to work year round. It’s not required of many others, but I’ve seen aides, drivers, admin, secretaries, food service, custodial, teachers and more EVERY SINGLE DAY this summer. Better put some respect/trust on school employees. They’ve earned it. 👊🏽

3 things for teachers to remember: 1) Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. It’s not a time for perfection; it’s a time for grace. 2) The students would still love to hear from you. Stay connected if you can. 3) Take care of yourself and your family. They’re still your #1.
