@FergalBowers intramuscular injection of vaccine should be done with aspiration to avoid hitting a vein (as happened in this photo, see blood spot), Ref youtube.com/watch?v=D6hUoo… and pmj.bmj.com/content/early/… and bbc.com/news/health-59…

@Helinhandbasket @michaelmina_lab @President_MU @lidl_ireland It is important that they are used correctly. In the early stages of COVID (days 1 to 7) there is a 17% chance of false negative with that test. People who do not understand the stats may skip self isolation after one test. Advice on how to safely use the test is important.
English

Can I get some snake oil with that? It makes for a great salad dressing with a pinch of salt and something acerbic. Stay safe when socialising outdoors over the next few weeks. Small numbers, distance, masks. These antigen tests will not keep you safe.

Weekend Super Savers! Pick up a pound of sausages, charcoal for the BBQ and antigen tests for €31 👀

@michaelmina_lab @President_MU Sensitivity "Early stages (1-7 days): 82.35%", do you not agree that will cause many people to believe they do not have COVID and disregard the advice to self isolate if they have any reason to believe they are infected? Buy tests in a pharmacy and get advice, not LIDL.
English

@President_MU For an advisor to your government - you don’t appear to know what you are talking about @President_MU wrt rapid tests.
The comment adds nothing of benefit and further sows confusion.
You should be ashamed of your demeanor here.

So Ireland can't source the vaccine seperate from other EU member states but Germany can. Perhaps someone in the Irish government might explain. politico.eu/article/german…

@HSEImm What is the status on the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine approval process? With less strict cold chain requirements it could accelerate the distribution.
English

Great news! Once the licensed information is available work will begin on updating clinical materials and making them available on immunisation.ie as we have done for the 1st vaccine licensed in December.

@FergalBowers why still saying "Generally, you need to be 15 minutes or more in the vicinity of an infected person and within 2 metres of them, to be considered at-risk, or a close contact." ?
