I met with Ukrainian skeleton racer and member of Ukraine’s National Olympic Team, Vladyslav Heraskevych, and his father, coach of Ukraine’s skeleton team, Mykhailo Heraskevych. I presented Vladyslav with the Order of Freedom. Ukraine will always have champions and Olympians. But above all, Ukraine’s greatest asset is Ukrainians – those who cherish the truth and the memory of the athletes killed by Russia, athletes who will never compete again because of the Russian aggression. 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗳𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀: Thanks to all the great athletes and coaches for your time. I appreciate the chances to bring fans closer to their favorite teams. To the wonderful people on all the staffs who helped coordinate interviews, live shots, and more: thank you. I love working in my hometown, and I strive to mobilize out to practices and games even more in 2026. Despite the changing times in media, I know that’s what sports fans in this great state desire. Plus, interviewing athletes and coaches is what I love to do, so I will find a way to make it happen more regularly. Special shoutouts to Chad Britton, close friends who let me lean on them, my family, and especially my wife, Claire. This award always means a lot, as I look at the list of great sportscasters who have won it. I view it as a responsibility to keep getting better, as we hopefully soon gather on Woodward for the next championship parade (or two… or three… or four).
