@kmh

Queer middle-aged guy. I work on radars. Opinions are my own but I'm trying to make them everyone else's problem also. In my spare time I fence and make music

The engineer’s creed: We chose to do this and the other things, not because they are easy, but because we *thought* they would be easy.

@kmh @Flight2Starship To doom on starship. You can try and say that wasn’t your intentions if you want but I personally won’t be buying it

@Tenit902 @xdNiBoR @kmh @PebMet1 1/week launches and towards the end of next year we will closes up on 1/3days, but a 1/week launch would be enough for Artemis 3/4 as the depo can store indefinitely thanks to active propellant cooling

@Tenit902 @xdNiBoR @kmh @PebMet1 Yesterday moon mission will be in 2028, 2027 is only a Leo docking test and such so like Apollo 9(I think was it) I assume next launch will be in 2 months ish and towards the end of the year we will get 1/months to 1/2weeks next year around this time we probably will see roughly

@kmh You didn't use those words but you fought hard to say that starliner was safe despite it's issues, even in the months after

@kmh Operational cost for full payload deployment in orbit will be around 10mil, considering this wouldn't likely be full payload, and is suborbital? It would cost even less. Even potentially be provided for free in case of disasters.

They've mentioned point to point travel using starship on earth, and I have no reason to doubt that at all, I think both A - B travel and space tourism will become popular. But I'm even more excited about another possibility I haven't seen anyone mention yet -

Special delivery for critical systems or sensitive cases. Provided that materials, or important personnel, can survive the launch (easy to accommodate even for elderly), you now have a system which can transport, lets say, emergency vaccines or trauma response material-
