I've seen some people saying these are good contests from Harden, and I just have to disagree
Simply having a hand up on someone like Brunson doesn't do anything
Brunson is getting anywhere he wants, feeling zero pressure, and flowing into shots that he can make in his sleep

@BenRitholtzNBA Facts. Harden guarding Brunson was a much better option than just leaving OG Anunoby (one of the hottest players in the playoffs) wide open. The fact is that the Cavs just don’t have the personnel to effectively guard the trio of Brunson, Mikal, and OG.

Considering the shot difficulty, I think the decision to keep switching Harden to Brunson was FAR more defensible than adjusting by putting - [checks notes with a furrowed brow] - Sam Merrill on him and soft doubling.
