It is our sincere hope that someday Medieval Times is held accountable for their actions and takes real steps to address the systemic issues of poverty wages, sexual harassment, and animal mistreatment. So, for that effort, we look to you, our community, to carry on our mission.
Today, the American Guild of Variety Artists (AGVA) sent notice to Medieval Times officially relinquishing their role as our designated bargaining representative. Our union has reached the end of its journey.
Workers at Ben & Jerry's quickly won a first contract after the Ice Cream company voluntarily recognized the union.
The @ScoopersUnited contract includes:
-Starting wages up from $14 to $20.75/hr
-Less reliance on tips
-Paid time off
-Sick leave
-Seven new holidays
And more.
If we’ve been quiet over here, it’s because we’re back at work and dealing with much of the same anti-union sentiment Medieval Times has thrown at us since day one. 😤
