- Drafted a blog post
- Used an LLM to meticulously improve the argument over 4 hours.
- Wow, feeling great, it’s so convincing!
- Fun idea let’s ask it to argue the opposite.
- LLM demolishes the entire argument and convinces me that the opposite is in fact true.
- lol
The LLMs may elicit an opinion when asked but are extremely competent in arguing almost any direction. This is actually super useful as a tool for forming your own opinions, just make sure to ask different directions and be careful with the sycophancy.

I think the same thing happened with the ctx package a few years back (also through PyPI).
Not perfect, but I think the best way to avoid is to:
1. Download a source code snapshot of the package (e.g., from github)
2. Audit it (traditionally manually, but now also LLM agent-aided)
3. Include the source code in your own library (since most open source licenses are compatible with each other anyways; just need to include the license and acknowledge that; it's a pattern I learned from scikit-learn maybe a decade ago)

Enrique emailed me a few weeks ago to casually chat about the elliptic curve DLP. We tested many of his ideas using models and Aristotle. I am very proud of him: in the breaks between high-school classes, he carved his way into the mathematical frontier, at the age of 17!
My advice consisted of only modest hints and encouragement. Enrique deserves full credit for his daring and passion. Good luck, man-reach for the stars!

Honored to announce that Yann LeCun @ylecun is joining Prior Labs’ Scientific Advisory Board.

Bad news: minor car collision
Good news: not my fault and I got to use ChatGPT for insurance claim for the first time. I managed to submit a claim within 10 mins. It’s great at writing claim and parsing the photos I took (ID cards). But I wish @GEICO can support that AI natively so I don’t need to jump between apps and copy text cell by cell.

I have been an @AcquiredFM fan for a while now. Their episodes on Rolex and Hermes were particularly interesting, given these are worlds I had near zero knowledge on.

@krishnagade It was sad to see this iteration of BGT. India were just not a smart team...
didn't get basics in place -- got selection wrong, missed catches, didn't play the situation, let go of commanding positions etc.
until they figure out the core of the team, I don't see this changing.
English

It's disappointing to see India lose the BGT that they held for 10 years.
Batting on both sides was almost on par, contrary to popular opinion Indian team was always a bowler short and resources wise Australia had a much stronger bowling attack. Over reliance on Bumrah had its effect where he was not fit when we needed him the most.
@Jaspritbumrah93 clearly emerged as an all time great and is ready to lead the side. Seems like it is time to rebuild the side around the core group of Bumrah, Siraj, Pant, Jaiswal and Sundar.
@GautamGambhir and his support staff appeared clueless most of the time, not surprising because a great T20 coach does not necessarily mean a great Test coach.

..been a while since I have followed so much of a test match live #INDvsAUS
how do the followers feel about the number of no balls here (get that too few spin overs being bowled)?
English

@allenmhc Lol yeah -- the bay area, weekend, indian snack sample explains the line
English

@knitesh In line? Need to find another Costco that's less crowded.

If its more than 36 in an innings in the first test, the Indian fan is okay 😅 #INDvsAUS
