Re: protesting Chick-Fil-A, I think I’m more disappointed that people would line up for fast food American-chain chicken sandwiches when we have local spots with almost certainly better versions like PG Clucks, Porchetta & Co., Chica’s, Five Points, Union Chicken, Maha’s etc...

@markimbriaco I did @Codecademy and Automate the Boring Stuff with Python. Both were good, but I really needed an end goal I was passionate about, which is why I now love writing Terraform. Maybe work back from the end goal/passion to find the right language to start with.

Friends, I'd love some suggestions for a beginning software development course for my 15 year old son to use for one of his homeschool courses. I can definitely help him, but I'm terrible at teaching the basics, so I think something with a fair amount of structure would be best.

@eevee A small fraction of people can voluntarily flex a muscle in their ear and rumble their tympanum (sounds like thunder). They can also often use this to equalize pressure without yawning. People with this ability (me) usually don't know it's special and think everyone can do it.
