I finished my capstone project at TS academy ( @TechSphereAcad) this week, and it's one of the things I'm most proud of recently. I led Group 18 on building a full end-to-end machine learning pipeline on the Bank Marketing dataset, predicting whether a customer would subscribe to a term deposit. Honestly, it was a lot of work and a lot of late nights, but seeing it come together was worth it. Here's what the pipeline covered: 🔹 Loaded the dataset directly from Kaggle and pushed it into SQLite for business-level SQL analysis 🔹 Feature engineering in transforming raw columns like pdays, age, and balance into meaningful customer signals 🔹 K-Means clustering to segment customers into personas without touching the target label 🔹 4 classifiers compared head-to-head: Logistic Regression, Decision Tree, Random Forest, and Gradient Boosting 🔹 Imbalance handling via class weights, threshold tuning, and SMOTE 🔹 Cross-validation across all models to confirm results were stable, not lucky Final recommendation: Gradient Boosting + SMOTE at threshold 0.3 because in a bank marketing context, missing a real subscriber costs more than making one unnecessary call. This project pushed me to think like a data scientist, not just someone running models. Every decision had to be justified. Every number had to mean something. I'm currently open to Data Science and Machine Learning internship opportunities and if you're building something interesting and need someone who can take a problem from raw data all the way to a model recommendation, I would love to talk.
