@AfricanHub_ Sonko will be a badnut(President) when given the opportunity. He is simply a betrayer and traitor. The speaker of the National Assembly who resigned yesterday will regret if Sonko becomes the speaker or future president

SENEGAL 🇸🇳: Lawmakers are scheduled to meet on Tuesday to consider the reinstatement of Ousmane Sonko as a Member of Parliament, following his dismissal as Prime Minister over the weekend, and to elect a new Speaker of the National Assembly after the resignation of El Malick Ndiaye, who said he stepped down in the best interest of the Nation.

@cecild84 Power play.! Game theory, the president should appoint someone in Sonko's party as a new prime minister. I'm sure by now the president would have lured or bought some members of Sonko party. He can make a deal with some and run the govt till November.

🇸🇳Former prime minister of Senegal Ousmane Sonko is set to become the new President of Senegal’s National Assembly, where his PASTEF party holds a commanding majority marking a direct challenge to President Bassirou Diomaye Faye. Deputies have been urgently summoned to a plenary session on Tuesday morning to reinstate Sonko as a member of parliament and elect a new Speaker of the Assembly.El Malick Ndiaye, the current President of the National Assembly and a close Sonko ally, resigned on Sunday. The move significantly complicates President Faye’s reform agenda. Faye had sacked Sonko as Prime Minister on Friday following months of growing tensions between the two former allies.Faye must now nominate a new Prime Minister, whose appointment requires approval by the National Assembly within three months. The President cannot dissolve the current parliament until November two years after the last legislative elections.Additionally, a recent reform of the electoral code, passed by parliament a few weeks ago, has restored Ousmane Sonko’s eligibility to run for president in future elections. What’s your take? Do you think the Pan-Africanist former prime minister Sonko could one day rise to become the president of Senegal? 👇👇

@_LilBlvq Our democracy is just 34yrs old, out of which NDC ruled 18yrs and NPP 16yrs. Two years different, what's the NPP done as compared to the NDC?. Little mind, go back and learn Ghana's history since independence before exposing your experience.

Northerners, Voltarians and Krobos keep voting for the NDC since independence but we have the lowest quality of life among all the tribes. When the come to power they take all the development to the others but always run to us during elections. Just take a look at the Boti road.

I’ve lived all my life in Accra & after experiencing the north, all and I can say is Ghana is a VERY POOR place. There’s poverty written all over the people: their food, clothes & overall wellbeing. The disparity between East Legon and Chereponi is sheer wickedness! Unacceptable!

@BTLizle Most of you because you don't travel, you don't know anything. It's sad that even foreigners know Ghana pretty much better than idiots like you. Get yourself educated by travelling to the 4 corners of Ghana. At least Bongo Ideas is beginning to realise that Accra isn't Ghana

The president comes from there. The speaker of parliament comes from there. The majority leader comes from there. Attorney General and minister of Justice comes from there. Minister of Education comes from there. Minister of Energy comes from there. Minister for Transport comes from there. Just to mention a few.

People keep saying Sonko “made” Faye President, but politics is not that simple. Sonko was disqualified and jailed. If he had actually been eligible to run, there is no guarantee they would even have won the election. History does not work on hypotheticals, it works on outcomes. And the outcome is that Bassirou Diomaye Faye is the constitutional President of Senegal. Sonko deserves enormous credit for building the movement, the momentum, and the anti-establishment energy that changed Senegalese politics. Nobody can deny that. But once Faye became President, the responsibility of protecting the institution of the presidency became his duty, not Sonko’s. I don’t think Faye firing Sonko is betrayal. I however think Sonko publicly criticizing and disrespecting Faye is the real betrayal. A Prime Minister publicly undermining the President weakens the image of leadership and creates unnecessary institutional tension. No serious country can function properly when the public starts believing the President is not truly in charge. Disagreements between leaders are normal. But there is a difference between internal disagreement and public disrespect. Senegal’s democracy has always been admired across Africa because institutions mattered more than personalities. That culture should not be sacrificed because of ego or power struggles. At the end of the day, movements can bring leaders to power, but institutions are what keep nations stable.

@KennedyWandera_ It's a big shame these guys couldn't manage their egos in less than three years after taking power from #Senegalese who felt they're governed by corrupt and Western backed stooges. Sadly, they two little ones have reaffirmed that children in Africa aren't ready for power

They survived state repression, arrests and political persecution. They sold young Africans a dream. They symbolized hope for a new generation. #Faye and #Sonko became symbols of change and resistance in Senegal. Now they look like another revolution destroyed by power, ego and political betrayal. Disappointed.

@SonkoOfficiel This is just the problem when given children power. They fight over trivial things instead of ceasing the opportunity 2 be the greatest & solving the numerous problems confronting the country. Some of us predicted this after they won power. They're not politically matured

This is no longer funny. NDC must go on D72028. They are not ready for this democracy. Democracy is the people's rule. Demos (people) + Kratia (rule). How can the people partake in the ruling if they are silenced by these rough tactics?
