bella marie west: born february 2nd, 2016. died may 12th, 2024. on mother’s day, of all days. she was a world-traveler! i always giggled whenever i told anyone about how she has her own doggo passport, and how she’s traveled more than the average american human has. just like her mama, her favorite food was pancakes. she loved the simple things - long walks around the neighborhood, visiting her grammy and grampy on their farm, running upstairs to my bedroom and snuggling with me every morning while i woke up. she was an avid booty wiggler, lover of ear rubs, and the most fiercely independent woman i’ve ever known. she was my absolute best friend, my confidante, my cheerleader, my “dogter,” and the literal joy of my life. you never realize that your last time experiencing something is your last time… until you don’t have it anymore, and you look back and realize just how profound all of the small moments were. it was the greatest honor to have been your mama, babygirl. thank you for being my best friend. thank you for adventuring the world with me, and getting me through my 20’s. it’s going to be extremely hard to go from having always been “meg and bella” to just “meg,” but i’ll do my best to figure it out and lead a life you’d have loved to be by my side living. you were - you are - such an integral piece of my identity, i feel incomplete without you. i’ll love and miss you endlessly. keep playing soccer with balls, borking at strange men, and being stubborn as hell. ❤️
