Good morning from Galveston, Texas. Our main mission today is to get a new suitcase. Everywhere we go, people are so incredibly kind to us. This is what we received from the Police Department and the Astros yesterday. What I appreciate most is that they always think of my friends too and prepare gifts for them as well, not just for me. Luckily, the violence was limited. One parked bus set on fire, some other buses damaged. Assorted roudiness, but the cops kept it in check. Well done NYPD! Mostly peaceful celebrations! (For real!) The city is going to be fun to go out in today. People are just happy!

Yesterday I brought our 15 yo daughter to the Twin Cities to pick up my 21 yo daughter from the airport, as she's back in Minnesota for the summer, working at a Bible camp about an hour from us. We stopped for lunch with my 20 yo son before his work, and then visited the store he works at down there. There was tons of road construction in the cities, and backed up traffic from an accident, stop and go, and 90 degree heat, and my van was acting up and "misfiring" I found out it was called. We pulled into a Toyota dealership service department to see if it would make the 3 hour drive home. They checked it, and it needs work, but nothing urgent. I could drive it home. Then 30 minutes from the Bible camp, my rearview mirror just fell off, and dangled by a cord in front of the windshield. No one touched it. Just dropped from the ceiling. So that was annoying. Then deer just kept darting in front of the van on 3 different points between the Bible camp and home. Didn't hit any. Anyway, I'm glad to be back home today.
