Just days after Reformation Day, let's dive deep into the heartbeat of the gospel: Justification by Faith Alone (Sola Fide)! In this fresh blog post, we unpack Westminster Larger Catechism Q70—God's free grace that pardons ALL our sins, declares us righteous through Christ's perfect obedience, and receives it all by faith alone. No works, no boasting, just pure mercy! From Martin Luther's bold stand to the peace that changes everything (Romans 5:1), it's a reminder we desperately need in our self-help world. Check it out and let it renew your soul: wix.to/ELeHX8F What's one verse that grounds you in God's grace? Female pastors are the easiest and most obvious church polity error for Southern Baptists to address in our current cultural moment. We’ve got to get this right… and quickly. centerforbaptistleadership.org/fielder-church…

@BaptistReview @bartbarber As the one who made the motion to suspend the rule, I would like to clarify that the motion was to suspend the rule so that the challenge would not go to the credentials committee, which is a procedural rule that can be suspended.

@AgainstAtheismX There is such a thing as true mental illness, but not all of what we refer to as mental illness fits in that category. Sometimes it is just sin, and other times it is demonic.

@richbarcellos Honestly, I do not believe it to be right or wrong, morally speaking, in and of itself. Why are you doing it would be an essential part of the equation.

Confused about what group of Christianity you belong to? Here’s a helpful guide! Just see which verse you have memorized below and there’s your answer! “Do not judge, so that you will not be judged.— Matthew 7:1 =Welcome home liberal Protestant (i.e. Methodist) You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone.— James 2:24=On your way to Rome (most likely already there) “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.— John 3:16 = Welcome to your Baptist Church (or your nearest non denominational denomination) For He says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” — Romans 9:15= Ugh..a Calvinist or Reformed Baptist probably! Any verse with the Word “Covenant” = Reformed Presbyterian! No verse= Heathen! (Go to Church!)

@brandon_d_smith Check out, "The God We Love (Nicene Creed) by CityAlight. We recently added it to our song list. We also regularly confess the creed together when we celebrate the Lord's supper.

On this 1700th anniversary of the Nicene Creed, we should take time to reflect on how we can incorporate it into our preaching, teaching, liturgy, catechesis, etc. Yes and amen! But we should also remember that many liberal, mainline traditions love the creeds and recite them regularly while barely resembling the faith handed down to the saints. It is simply not a silver bullet for revival. God’s Word and the faithful preaching of the gospel is and always has been God’s primary means of transformation and renewal.

@Protestia By no means should it be a first order thing, but I would councel a couple to do so as they work through what a healthy biblical marriage looks like.

If a man took his wife's last name before he was saved, or had their names hyphenated, should he repent of that and then change his name back as a sign of repentance?
