I showed up to my workplace *on my day off* to get my flu vaccine! Once it’s been long enough since my September infection I’ll have my updated Covid vax! We are for it! And we’re for telling the truth about the amazing gifts AND the inadequacies of Covid vaccines specifically.

It is not anti vaccine to point out that not all viruses nor all vaccines have exactly the same outcomes. It is wildly pro-vaccine to point out the real shortcomings of *specific* vaccines. For one, it takes steam from antivaxxers who point out breakthru cases and go “LOOK!”

Mutual aid, community gardens, libraries, community fridges, etc are ESSENTIAL too It’s basic somatic theory People need safety, they need places & people to regulate with, etc Who else is giving out food & supplies for free consistently? People can’t eat theory

And this is why I’m struggling finding a political home Too many don’t care about immediate material needs, won’t mask, & are too focused on teaching theory & protesting Theory is so important, but people can’t focus & learn if their survival needs aren’t being accounted for

If you wish to glory in this today (especially today ❤️‍🩹), it is yours freely. If it stings bc you are not getting what you deserve from your people, I am with you. I had all but given up hope. And lord knows my own family of origin wouldn’t do this.

In super hopeful news for folks who need it today: we offered to host family Christmas this year, knowing that would give us most control over Covid precautions, and the sin-laws (who host thanksgiving) asked us to advise on how to make turkey day equally accessible 😭😭💚💚

@milanaldebaran As a disabled person, you can't do some things others do. That's not an ableist statement, just a fact. You can show your support in other ways, in the same way that someone who maybe needs to use a wheelchair and cant get to locations might. honestly asking what the problem is.

It's a shame so many leftists are ableist.

@zeDotenator I don’t think you’re trying to be as dehumanizing as you’re being. (I very much trust the opposite is true!) But if I’m right there, it is well past time to sit tight and listen to suffering people long enough to take us seriously. Even if our tone is impolite.
