@jaybaxter @NateSilver538 Hey Jay, sorry to reply here but I’ve been trying to resolve a false ban for weeks with no luck. I sent you a DM, would really appreciate if you could check it out🙏

@NateSilver538 More context for how it used to work (before Nikita launched the new better link UI):
Jay Baxter@jaybaxter
The reason posts with links sometimes get lower reach is not because they are explicitly downranked by any evil rule or logic. It's just because posts with links get fewer engagements (e.g. likes) per view In Twitter 1.0 days, there was a model that explicitly upranked posts with links based on the predicted click probability to counteract this. (That said, it's my personal opinion that links are the lifeblood of the internet and I would personally like to browse a For You feed that upranks posts with good links)

That isn't really what the tweet you're self-quoting says. It says it's hard to establish the quality signal associated with a link and so each tweet should "stand alone", and also the platform design makes it hard to engage with such tweets. Maybe fix that?

@NateSilver538 Links are not deboosted. We fixed that issue last year.
